Worthington, Patricia A. May 11, 1946 - November 3, 2022

Patricia Ann Worthington nee Applebey passed away on November 3, 2022 age 76. Patti was born May 11, 1946, in Elmesford NY to Edward Lord Appleybey and Elizabeth Purdy. She was the youngest of four children.

 

Patti graduated high school in 1964 and entered the workforce. While in High School she met and for a time dated her future husband Henry Russell ”Russ” Worthington III. Although before they would marry she first married Jake William Lane, an LDS missionary. While visiting Jake and his family in Flagstaff Arizona, she and Jake eloped in December of 1969. In January of 1971 They welcomed their first child Justin William, he was followed a year and a day later by their daughter Rachel Ann. Patti became a widow 3 months later when Jake died in a tragic accident.

 

Moving to Phoenix Az, Patti raised her two children as a single mother.

For most of her professional life, Patti worked in Insurance. She worked her way up from a secretary to a claims adjuster, and finally as a claim review specialist. She would often have unbelievable yet true stories of things that people had filed insurance claims for.

 

In 1997 Patti reconnected with Russ. The two of them found a much better match this time around. In 2001 she and Russ married. In many ways for Patti, it was an ideal marriage, she loved her husband and her new step Daughters. In fact, according to her own words, it took over 20 years for her to have her first fight with Russ.

 

Patti loved being with Russ. His death on May 11, 2022, devastated her. Patti passed away on Thursday, November 3rd, 2022. She is survived by her son Justin, step-daughters Carrie (Patrick), and Jennie, granddaughters Anna, Samantha, and Bethany, and Her sister Joan and brother Joseph.

 

Patti will be laid to rest with her beloved Russ in the Spring of next year.
