Youtz, Joseph R. March 10, 1972 - December 9, 2024

Date of Funeral

December 13, 2024

Joseph Robert Youtz, aged 52, passed away on December 9, 2024 in Hackettstown, NJ. He was a beloved father, son, husband, brother, uncle, nephew and friend, who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Joey was born on March 10, 1972 in Dover, NJ, and was known to all in the Budd Lake area where he grew up his entire life.  He attended middle school at Upper El and graduated from Mount Olive High School in 1990, where he was an athlete.  He attended Jersey City State College for three semesters where he played football.  Joey worked several jobs before returning to work in the family construction business.

More than anything, Joey was a devoted husband to Kim, his wife of 23 years and father to Madison. He loved spending time on the softball field, either playing or cheering on Maddy.  He was a sports enthusiast –  hunting, cheering on his Mets and Jets, and spending time with extended family in North Carolina.  He was always around to offer guidance, support, and encouragement to friends and family alike.  Joey will be remembered for his loyalty, his deep laugh and his smile.

Joey is survived by his wife Kim and their wonderful daughter Madison. He was a treasured son to Robert and Anne, trusted brother to Kathleen and Thomas, and brother in law to Lisa and Christine.  Joey was blessed to be an uncle to Nicole, Jackson, Lincoln, Zach, and his wife Rachel and great uncle to Cooper and Layla. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him. His family will hold a place in their hearts for the unfinished chapters of his life.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024 from 5 – 8 pm at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street Hackettstown, NJ.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a GoFundMe to help support Joey’s loved ones. https://gofund.me/aaabdf07

Rest in peace, Joey. You will forever be in our hearts and memories.

I am sad to hear of Joe’s passing! Having left the area 25+ years ago, I had not seen him in a long time. I always enjoyed Joe as a friend. The Youtz family is a wonderful family. I pray for God to ease your mourning and to be with Kim, Yogi, and Tom and the family!

The best laugh and smile ever and the greatest let’s skip school in the morning and go four wheeling in his truck. We had no cell phones by we didn’t care we were free. When we were down by 6 points against West Morris Joey said to me hass we are down with 52 seconds left and geuss what Joey’s number was 52 . I said we got this and because of him it happened. Still one of the greatest memories ever. Thx Joey.
