Sperduto, Vito May 3, 1957 - May 24, 2026

Vito Sperduto, 69, of Mansfield Township, New Jersey, passed away at home on May 23, 2026.

Born in Newark, New Jersey, Vito made Mansfield his home for more than 35 years. After spending his earlier years in crowded suburbs, he enjoyed the quiet country life Mansfield offered.

Vito rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on the New York Yankees and New York Giants. Yankee Stadium held a special place in his heart. He also enjoyed fishing, dancing, music, movies, spending time with friends, and sharing jokes and laughter. Earlier in life, he played bass guitar.

Above all, Vito treasured spending time with his grandchildren. In recent years, some of his happiest moments were spent fishing with his grandson Logan and creating memories with Elliott, Logan, and Lilly.

He will be remembered for his sense of humor, generosity of spirit, loyalty, and humanity. He spoke often about the people he loved and the relationships he treasured. His feelings ran deep, and so did his capacity for connection.

The family asks that Vito’s memory be honored by supporting mental health awareness and encouraging those who are struggling to seek professional care. If you or someone you know is experiencing depression, emotional distress, or thoughts of self-harm, help is available through mental health professionals, healthcare providers, and crisis services.

For immediate support, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, a free and confidential service available 24 hours a day. The Lifeline provides support for mental health concerns, emotional distress, substance use issues, and suicidal thoughts. Counselors can also help connect callers with local mental health resources and support services. You do not need to be in crisis to reach out, and you may contact the Lifeline on behalf of someone you care about.

Vito is survived by Kathy; his son, Jon; his daughter, Michelle; and his beloved grandchildren, Elliott, Logan, and Lilly; his sister, Fortunate, and her husband, Buddy; and his nieces, Dana and Diana.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
