Alles, Charles P. September 8, 1950 - September 10, 2021

Charles P. Alles, age 71, of Andover, NJ died Friday, September 10, 2021 at Newton Memorial Hospital of Newton, NJ. Charles was born September 8, 1950 in Passaic, NJ. He is the son of the late Charles H. and Lillian M. (Anderson) Alles. He married Jayne Mohrle.

Charles grew up in Clinton, NJ and attended Clifton public schools and graduated in 1968 from Clifton H.S. He attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL and graduated from Trinity International University with a B.A. degree in History/Secondary Education in 1972. He was an extremely dedicated worker and worked at various part-time jobs while in college, before beginning a 48 year career in international household goods forwarding first with North American Van Lines, Global Van Lines and Bekins Wide World before incorporating Fidelity Forwarding Int’l Inc. where he was the owner and President for the last 33 years.

Chuck did not fear death. He lived life to the fullest because he knew where he was going when he died. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior when he was 7 years old and loved the Lord with all his heart. He was godly man, humble and selfless who left behind a legacy that will be hard to live up to. He had a servant’s heart and touched the lives of many people, especially mentoring youth and young adults who had difficult life experiences.

He served as a youth group and small group leader at Grace the Church on the Mount for over 30 years, where he also served as an Elder for 8 years. His loves were first the Lord, his wife of 49 years, his 3 children and 12 grandchildren and then Studebakers, Abbott and Costello, traveling (to all 50 states, with a special passion for the Adirondack Mountains and Lake George) He traveled to every territory and province of Canada, including the Yukon, as well as to the Caribbean, Mexico, England, Israel, Jordan and Germany. His retirement home which his son Chad built, his lake and boat rides with family, freestyle soda machines and his T-shirt collection which showcased where he’d been. He found joy in the most mundane tasks-mowing the lawn, taking care of his home and skimming the lake. His family was one of the most important things in his life-they were his treasure. He would drop everything to have his children and grandchildren over to ride on his boat, play board games or watch old disaster or Abbott and Costello movies, of which he had every movie in the collection. He was so proud of his family. He was their rock and peacemaker, and the void that he is leaving behind seems somewhat unbearable. His family will forever miss his godly guidance, his prayers for them and the comfort he gave them. He was and will always be one of the greatest people in the family’s lives…

He is survived by his wife: Jayne (Mohrle) Alles, son: Charles Derrick Alles and his wife Brissen Alles daughter; Christen Nicole Mazzarella and her husband Anthony, daughter: Lauren Michelle Bonnema and her husband William Bradley (Brad). 12 grandchildren: Charles J. Alles, Gabriel R. Alles, Logan W. Alles, Makayla B. Alles, Ava R. Mazzarella, Christian N. Mazzarella, Cole N. Mazzarella, Dean A. Mazzarella, Piper M. Bonnema, Eden R. Bonnema and Ezra G. Charles Bonnema. Sister: Charleen L. Anderson (Alles) and her husband Leith C. Anderson, sisters-in-law: Marie A. Dorobkowski (Mohrie) and Ruth M. Minerley (Mohrle), many cousins, nieces and nephews in Illinois, Minnesota, Colorado, Florida and New Jersey.

Celebration of Life will be held, on Saturday, September 18,2021 fat 2:00 pm, at Grace The Church on the Mount, Randolph Campus, 758 State Route 10 West, Randolph, NJ 07869.

Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840

    2 Timothy 4:7-8 ESV
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.
