Helen H. Blake, 96 of Hackettstown, NJ, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023 at the Hackettstown Medical Center. Born in Oxford, NJ Helen was the daughter of the late Andrew & Sophie Trucz Hummer. Helen was a long-time resident of Hackettstown where she and her beloved late husband, Arthur E. Blake raised their seven children. Helen loved going for long walks, the beach and attending the sporting events of her children and grandchildren. In addition, she enjoyed following professional sports with the New York Yankees and the New York Giants. Helen was a devout member of St. Mary’s Church of the Assumption in Hackettstown, NJ.
She is survived by six children; Arthur E. Blake (Virginia) of Betterton, Md., Andrew M. Blake with whom she lived. Four daughters, Elyse (Daniel) Allen of Glenside, Pa, Pamela Wolfe of Belvidere, NJ, Diane (Harold) Schank of Hackettstown, NJ and Allison (Robert) Struble of Washington, NJ. Helen had nine beloved grandchildren and 14 loving great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur H. Blake and a son, Douglas A. Blake.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00am, Saturday, November 11, 2023 at St. Mary’s Church of the Assumption in Hackettstown, NJ, Please meet at church. Interment will follow in the Hackettstown Union Cemetery immediately after the mass. Please do not send flowers but consider donating to the American Cancer Society of the Alzheimer’s Association in Helen’s name.
