Theresa Donatone age 93 of Mansfield Township, NJ passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, September 21, 2021. Theresa was born May 18, 1928 in Poland. Her mother was Wladyslawa Jakubowski and father was Boleslaw Rybczynki. She had one brother, Edward Rybczynki. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Anthony Donatone, Sr.
Theresa and her family fled from Poland to France during WWII. She had many stories of bombs dropping all around her. Her family rescued an American Pilot and hid him from the German soldiers. Theresa left France and came to the United States at the age of 17.
Theresa was a homemaker raising her 4 children and worked at her son Anthony Donatone’s luncheonette in Hackettstown. She enjoyed socializing with all the customers.
Theresa is survived by her devoted children, Nicholas Donatone (wife JoAnn Russo Donatone) Hamilton, NJ; Anthony Donatone (wife Diane Allen Donatone) Hackettstown, NJ; Joseph Donatone, Hackettstown, NJ and daughter Bernadette Donatone DiGaetano, Medford, NJ. She has 5 precious grandchildren, Marissa Donatone Drobish (her husband Chris Drobish), Stephanie Iskra (her husband Brandon Iskra) Angela DiGaetano, Kayla Donatone and Nicole Donatone (her husband Kevin Donatone) and a great grandson, Logan Donatone.
Arrangements are under the direction of The Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840.
Viewing will be Saturday, September 25th from 12:30PM-1:30PM. Services will be 1:30pm at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840. Burial will be at Union Cemetery, Mountain Avenue, Hackettstown, NJ. following the service.
