Garriques, Ronald D. January 20, 1945 - March 3, 2022

Ronald David Garriques, age 77, of Independence Township, died Thursday, March 3, 2022 at Newton Memorial Hospital in Newton, NJ.  Ronald was born January 20, 1945 in Newark, NJ. He is the son of the late Alfred and the late Arlene (Zeitler) Garriques.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Scudder) Garriques, four sons, Ron and wife Karena, David, John and wife Jacqueline, and Todd and wife Theresa.  Three daughters, Sheila, Patty and husband Luis, and Anna Marie. One sister Connie Garriques, 21 beloved Grandchildren & eight Great Grandchildren.

Ron touched many in the surrounding area in the 77 years though his volunteer work as a wrestling and football coach.  He also was martial arts instructor where he earned his black belt.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown NJ 07840.  All services are private at the request of the family.  Those wishing to leave an online condolence may do so at www.cochranfuneral.com

    Thoughts and prayers go out to the Garriques family.Ron was the consumate family man .A staple at all the Centenary matches, a great mentor back in the day with Tiger Wrestling Club, helped build them into winners. RIP old friend.
