Harold Gulick Jr.

February 4, 1947 – January 3, 2026

Harold Gulick Jr., a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and hardworking man, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026, just weeks shy of his 79th birthday.

Harold was a man defined by strength—both in body and in character. Known for his tireless work ethic, he believed deeply in showing up, working hard, and providing for those he loved. He carried himself with quiet determination and earned respect through action rather than words. To those who knew him, Harold was steady, dependable, and strong to the core.

Harold began his career in Flanders, New Jersey, working for Sunoco, where he hauled tankers and built the foundation for a lifetime dedicated to honest, physical work. Shortly thereafter, he continued his career with Great Northern Truck Lines in Netcong, where he worked as a diesel mechanic, further honing the mechanical skill and problem-solving ability for which he was known.

A few years later, Harold went on to work alongside his brother, Mike, at Tree King in Landing. From there, he completed his career doing what meant the most to him—working side by side with his son, Scott, at Scotty Tree Experts. Working with family was not just a job for Harold; it was a source of pride and fulfillment, and one of the many ways he passed down his values.

He was a proud father to his three sons, Daniel (wife Lori), Scott, and Michael (wife Vicky), and his two daughters, Monica and Elizabeth. Harold’s legacy lives on through his many cherished grandchildren: Jordan, Jacob, Shannon, Amy, Nicole, Jadessa, Solana, and Peter; and his great-grandchildren: Chasity, Hailey, Ashlyn, Dawson, and Colson—each of whom brought him immense pride and joy.

Harold is survived by his beloved wife, Lori; his brother, Kenneth and many loving nieces and nephews, all of whom will deeply miss him.

He was predeceased by his father, Harold Sr., his mother, Mary Ellen, his brother, Michael and his sisters, Mary Ellen and Patty.

Outside of work, Harold enjoyed fishing, horseback riding, and spending meaningful time with those he loved most. He also had a deep appreciation for Mack trucks—a symbol that perfectly reflected who he was: powerful, reliable, and built to last.

Harold will be remembered as a strong man, a provider, and a pillar to those who depended on him. His influence, work ethic, and quiet strength will continue to live on through his family for generations to come.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026 from 10:00am – 1:00pm with a Memorial Service starting at 12:30pm at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown NJ 07840.  Those wishing to leave an online condolence may do so at www.cochranfuneral.com
