Jose Aguirre Lagos, 78 of Hackettstown, NJ, passed away on Friday, January 29th survived by his loving wife Minga Aguirre and his 6 children, Maritza, Frank, Ricar, Xiomara, Henry and Marisela.

Jose was born on April 16th, 1942 in Honduras, Central America.  He was one of six children to the late Salvadora Lagos and Francisco Aguirre. He became a communications engineer for a large telecommunications company for over 25 years.  Jose was known for his love of his family, his quick wit and huge heart.  He was strong willed but none the less a loving and caring father and grandfather.  He loved to play his guitar and He loved spending time surrounded by family and friends.  He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren always putting a smile on their faces with his jokes, stories and guitar playing.

Jose came to know the Lord accepting Jesus Christ into his heart in the year 2006 and was baptized in water in 2009. Since that time Jose continually strived to serve his God with passion, love and humility.

His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his loving wife, Minga, to whom he was married for 57 years; his daughters: Maritza, Xiomara and Marisela, his sons: Frank, Ricar and Henry and his grandchildren: Johnathan, Ashley, Amy, Jesse, Jaimie, Jeffery, Aliah, Josue, Maali, Bryant, Brianna, Shelsea, Ashley, Isaac and Jassil.

The funeral will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J. with Pastor Washington Pasmino officiating.  With a burial at Hackettstown Union Cemetery, Mountain Avenue, Hackettstown, following the service.
