Elizabeth Kuhner, April 29, 1929 – May 30, 2022

Elizabeth (Betty) Gormley Kuhner age 93, went to be with the Lord on May 30, 2022 in Hackettstown, NJ. She had been a Hackettstown resident since 2016. She had previously lived for many years in Whiting, NJ and Township of Washington, NJ. Betty was a loving Mom, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. She was the daughter of William and Elizabeth Gormley.

Betty was born in Natick, Massachusetts and raised in The Bronx, New York. She graduated from Walton High School and worked for the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for several years before marriage. As a housewife she worked as a school crossing guard and later in the payroll department of the Great A&P Tea Company until retirement. Betty then relocated to Whiting, NJ where she was active in her church and also happy spending time with her friends and family. She was always a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed cooking.

Betty was predeceased by her parents, brothers Eric and Fred, as well as her ex-husband Charles. She is survived by her son Kevin Kuhner and daughter in law Joan Moon, grandsons William (wife Caitlin) Kuhner and James (wife Kristen) Kuhner plus adorable great-granddaughters Parker and Francesca. She was loved dearly by her family and friends.

Betty was a long-time parishioner of Grace Episcopal Church in Westwood, NJ and St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Whiting, NJ.

A visitation will be held at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ on Monday, June 6th from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon, followed by a service. Burial to follow at Fairmount Cemetery, 276 Old Turnpike Rd., Califon, NJ 07830.
