Marjorie S. Lindaberry

August 30, 1944 – March 31, 2026

The Long Valley community was saddened this week with the passing of one of its long-time residents, Marjorie Schomp Lindaberry. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, and Grammy. She passed away peacefully at her home on March 31, 2026. Marjorie was 81 years of age, born August 30,1944 to the late Charles Phillip Schomp and Marjorie Schomp O’Brien. She and her husband William Lindaberry shared 55 years of marriage on the Lindaberry Farm where they raised their three daughters.

Marjorie grew up in the town of Stanhope and graduated from Netcong High School. She continued her education at Glassboro State College (now Rowan University) where she earned a degree in Elementary Education. She taught fourth grade at Netcong Elementary School until leaving to start her family. Marjorie treasured the role of motherhood. Always compassionate and empathetic, she nurtured everyone that God put in her path. She was a gracious hostess and welcomed everyone who came to the farm.

Marjorie was a faithful friend to anyone that knew her. She was known for sending greeting cards that were embellished with her beautiful penmanship and delightful stickers. She had a passion for shopping, always purchasing gifts for those that were special to her. Marjorie loved the companionship of her cats and watching birds out her window.

Together, Marjorie and William explored the country with their three girls visiting national parks, Disney World, and New England frequently. Then in retirement, they expanded their travels across the world. Perhaps Marjorie’s favorite trips were to local diners and restaurants.

In addition to her husband William, Marjorie is survived by her three daughters; Beth Wright, Robyn Wilson (Robert), and Christie Celli. She leaves five grandchildren; Brooke, Megan, John, Carl, and Mark all of whom cherished her love for holidays, baking, and Dollar Store finds. She is also survived by her brother C. Phillip Schomp and his wife Marion.

The family will receive friends at the Cochran Funeral Home in Hackettstown, New Jersey on Monday, April 6, 2026 from 4pm to 8pm. A graveside service will be held at Pleasant Grove Cemetery on Califon Road in Long Valley on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, departing from Cochran Funeral Home at 10:15am.
