Charles T. Osiecki passed away peacefully on May 14, 2021, due to complications from Parkinson’s Disease. He was 77 years old.
Charles was born on November 29, 1943, in Newark, NJ. Eventually, he and his family moved to Colonia, NJ, spending summers at the family’s bungalow in Seaside Park, NJ. Since 1968, Charles and Linda, his wife of 56 years, have resided in Budd Lake, NJ.
After graduating from Woodbridge High School in 1961, Charles went on to attend Stevens Institute of Technology. He graduated from Stevens in 1965 with a B.S. in Mathematics and later obtained an M.E. in Electrical Engineering. He spent his entire career working at Picatinny Arsenal in Dover, NJ, retiring in 2000.
Over his lifetime, Charles had many, varied interests and hobbies. He was a college DJ at the campus radio station; his show featured movie theme songs. He played in a Picatinny softball league. In the 1960s and 1970s, he was an avid follower of professional basketball. He had an enduring interest in cars; for a long time, he did most of his own car repairs and, in his 20s, he participated in road rallies with Linda and owned a Corvette that he eventually sold to “buy a family car.” His interest in Formula One racing was contagious. Over time he also had interests in chess, photography, oldies music, and classic comedy. He had a truly terrific sense of humor.
For the past several years, Charles volunteered with Linda at the Mount Olive Pantry, doing food donation pick-ups, inventory, and organizing. Charles was always quick to help a friend or neighbor; his tool box and shop vac were never more than a phone call away.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents Julie and Charlie Osiecki. He is survived by his wife, Linda (Mastrangelo); his daughters, Linda Michele, Cheryl (Scheir), and Becky; his grandchildren, Jake and Hayley (Scheir); and his sister, Jeanne (Petty). Other family members include Craig Scheir, Neal and Phillip Petty, Lois and Greg Bolyard, Bill Hayes, Ann Marie and Bruce Curtis, and members of the extended Osiecki and Berkowicz families.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 12th at 11:00 am at Mountaintop Church, 6 Naughright Road, Hackettstown NJ. For planning purposes due to COVID restrictions, please contact Linda by June 5th if you will be attending.
Linda and the girls wish to thank you all—family and friends—for your kindness, love, and support, now and always. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to:

May 21, 2021 at 3:15 pmSuch a good person, always helping my mom with snow and ice removal, leaf clean up, bringing my moms garbage cans to the curb each Monday and so much more. He was never even asked, Charles just did it in the spirit of being a good person and great neighbor. We pray for his family at this difficult time, and thank them for all that they do. Hugs and prayers, Linda.
