Raymond C. Bondy, age 81, of Belvidere, NJ died Sunday, August 30, 2020 at New York Presbyterian Hospital, Cornell, New York, NY. Raymond was born March 17, 1939 in Paris, France to the late Henri and Nelly (Strasser) Bondy. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his, son-in-law, Elliot Coley and his brother-in-law, Kenji Naito.
Ray served proudly in the US Army as a Para Trooper during the Vietnam War from 1959 to 1962. He was the owner of Raymond C. Bondy Paper Hanging, Upper Saddle River, NJ. Ray was an avid runner who participated in many over 50 half marathons from which he holds several trophies, he enjoyed reading and was a history buff.
He is survived by his loving wife: Anna (Caporuscio) Bondy, his daughter, Suzanne Coley and companion James Osborne, his son, Henri Bondy and wife Donna Fantozzi, a brother, Claude Bondy and wife Ria, his sister Solange Naito, 6 grandchildren, Casey Scifo and husband Johnny, AJ Coley, Hailey Coley, Kristen Russo and husband, Mike, Michael Bondy and wife Rachael, Sarah Bondy and husband Mathew McGuire and one great grandson, Jayson Brecht.
A celebration of life service will be held 2:30 pm on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ. Cremation was private.
Visitation hours will be Saturday, September 5, 2020 from 12:00 Noon – 3:00 pm at the funeral home.
