Joseph Miragliotta February 4, 1933 - September 1, 2020

Joseph “Joe” Miragliotta, age 87, of Warrensburg, New York passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at his daughter’s home in Blairstown, New Jersey surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on February 4, 1933 in Lodi, New Jersey to Anthony and Maria (nee Cusma) Miragliotta. After graduating from Wood-Ridge high school in 1951 he served two years in the US Army. He then attended the Newark College of Engineering and spent 40 years with the Givaudan Corporation at their chemical operations in Clifton, NJ.

Joe married the love of his life Ellen “Ellie” (nee Goetze) on August 15, 1959 in East Rutherford and moved to Hasbrouck Heights, NJ where he lived for over thirty years before retiring to Warrensburg, New York.  He was the proud father to Joseph, Laura, Michael and Peter and a devoted brother to Mary, Rose, and Anthony.  He and Ellie were avid travelers and embarked on numerous trips to explore the varied cultures around the world.  Joe enjoyed cruises in Europe and Asia and was particularly moved by his trip to Sicily, the home of his father and mother. He enjoyed a life-long passion for gardening and was known for crafting beautiful stained glass works of art.

Joe was predeceased by his parents and his sister Mary. He is survived by his beloved wife, Ellie, their children, and his ten grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ on September 6th from 1 to 4 PM with a memorial service commencing at 3:30.

    I’m going to miss Joe. He was a great neighbor. After my wife passed, Joe would check in on me to see how I was doing. He was always there to lend a helping hand if I needed one. Gonna miss you, Joe.

    I just learned of Joe’s passing. My heart goes out to his wife, my garden club buddy, Ellie, and his family. A talented gardener, we shared the love of the land. He will be missed by many, and certainly all of his North Country friends.
