It is with a heavy heart that I tell you of the passing of Terry Stanton. She passed peacefully on October 16, 2024, surrounded by her family after being admitted to Overlook hospital on October 14, 2024 .
Terry lived a beautiful life. She grew up in Palisades Park, New Jersey. Her first job was at the Palisades park amusement park. From there she graduated from Montclair State University with a teaching degree. Terry spent most of her career teaching in in Mount Olive at Mountain View North school. Over 30 years. She furthered her education by getting her masters degree before retiring. Her husband, Kenneth Stanton also lived in Palisades Park. They were married and bought their home in Flanders in 1967. In 1970 she gave birth to her only child, a daughter, Tracy Smith. Terry was a devoted mother, involved in everything her daughter did. She was there for her in good times and bad. Her greatest happiness came when her three grandchildren were born, Dylan Smith, Devon Smith and Morgan Massaro.
They brought her more love than you could imagine. After losing her husband in 1992 she was lost but her family pulled her through. About 20 years later she befriended Dale Bean. They were very close and that friendship turned into love. Dancing at Bernie’s, trips to Atlantic City, and plenty of pool parties with family. Terry and Dale recently got married. She was so happy. Terry lived the life she was meant to live. Touching and loving so many people she encountered along her life’s journey and will be missed by all that knew and loved her. She is survived by her daughter, Tracy Smith, her grandchildren, Dylan Smith, Devon Smith, and Morgan Massaro, her grand daughter-in-law, Allyson Hicks and grand son- in-law, James Ziegenfuss, her brother-in-law and sister- in-law, Robert Stanton and Regina Stanton, her husband, Dale Bean and all her nieces and nephews.
A Memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at Cochran Funeral Home from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm with friends and family to speak at 3:00 pm.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840. Those wishing to leave an online condolence may do so at www.cochranfuneral.com
