June Violet Sweeney, age 94, of Belvidere, NJ, passed away at Hackettstown Hospital, Hackettstown, NJ. Born December 15, 1931, in New York, New York, she was the daughter of the late William Lund and Vilma (Brada) Lund.

June was raised in a close-knit family and was one of six children. She is survived by her sisters Vilma Sherba and Alma DeCristafaro, and was predeceased by her brothers George Lund, William Lund, and Christian Lund.

A devoted mother throughout her life, June is survived by her children: Kirk Klein, Don Klein and wife Jane, Jeffrey Klein and wife Nancy, Stephen Klein and wife Michelle, Sean Sweeney and wife Sandra.

She was the proud grandmother of six: From Don — Jennifer Ericsson (husband Charles), Jaclyn Somoskey, and Eric Klein; From Stephen — Stephanie Sol (husband Ryan), Daniel (wife Kate), and Matthew (wife Kellie).

June was also blessed with ten great‑grandchildren: Addison, Ryan, Dylan, Brooke, Lindsey, Grayson, Jovie, Jacob, Genevieve, and Julian.

June dedicated her life to her family. She was a loving mother and homemaker who found her greatest joy in time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great‑grandchildren. She devoted extraordinary care to her handicapped son, Kirk, ensuring his comfort and well‑being with unwavering love.

Earlier in life, June worked as a dental assistant, and after retirement she continued to give back to her community by volunteering at several charity thrift stores. She was a lifetime member of VASA Park in Budd Lake, NJ, and lived for many years in Long Valley, NJ, where she built lasting friendships and memories.

June loved the outdoors—whether walking through local parks or relaxing at the beach, she found peace and happiness in nature. Her gentle spirit, generosity, and devotion to her family will be remembered always.

Visitation will be held at the Cochran funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 from 10 am – 12 noon with services to begin at 12 noon.  Following the service burial will be at Stillwater Cemetery, Stillwater, NJ.
