Christopher A. Westfall

Christopher A. Westfall, aged 59, of Panther Valley, Allamuchy Township died peacefully on September 16, 2026. Chris was born on October 6, 1966 at Saint Clare’s Hospital in Denville, New Jersey.

Chris attended Rider University in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, where he studied Liberal Arts and worked diligently to establish a career in Journalism and Economics. He began his early career as a local news reporter with Packet Publications. From there, he began working in the newsletter section of Institutional Investor where he found his love of financial research and reporting. Pursuing this calling, Chris took on the role of managing editor at KPMG for a 10 year period. While at KPMG, Chris founded Parametric Publishing LLC, a labor of love that he continued working on ever since, eventually turning it into a company of his own. He then worked as a senior editor at The Street followed by various roles at Financial Executive International, including Vice President of Content Strategy. In his last years, Chris worked earnestly to expand his company, actively publishing articles, podcasts, and reports for his followers through both his Risk Market News and Risky Science platforms.

Chris enjoyed showing off his cooking skills for friends and family at home and at barbecues. He was an avid reader and enjoyed playing golf and watching football with his sons while sipping on an aperol spritz or cold hard cider. He enjoyed walks on the beach with his wife, listening to the sounds of the ocean, and watching the sunsets—whether it be Nantucket, Avalon or other. He had a way of making ordinary moments feel special, simply by being present and appreciating them. Chris was always content and grateful to just be in the moment.

Above all else, Chris was a devoted father and husband. He was a gentle, kind soul who put his family before all. He had a calming presence with a smile and charm that instantly put those around him at ease. He selflessly helped others to achieve their goals encouraging an independence of mind and stressing the importance of work/life balance.

Chris was “the quiet man” who chose his words with care and insightfulness, appreciative of what others had to say and always letting them know that they were being heard. He had a witty sense of humor and a keen sense of capturing “awesome” photo images.

Chris is survived by his wife, Dr. Jeanette Paterno, and his two sons Jonathan and Harrison Westfall and his dog Penny, as well as his sons respective partners Alyssa Waters and Skylar DeJesus. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Ellen Paterno, his brother-in-law James Paterno and his partner Heather McDanel, nephew Christopher Paterno and his fiancé Brianna Nelson along with his other nephew Matthew Paterno and his wife Megan Gallagher. Chris is predeceased by his father-in-law, Louis Paterno.

Chris will be missed immensely and never forgotten by his family, who treasure the years they had with him, wishing only to have had more.

He was loved beyond measure.

Keeping with his wishes, a private service was held for Chris, surrounded by family. He was laid to rest with love, dignity, and peace.
