Yosh, Steven J. January 11, 1959 - November 22, 2023

Steven J. Yosh, 64, of Independence passed away peacefully on November 22, 2023.  He was born in Denville, NJ to James and Eleanor Yosh and spent his formative years in Dover, NJ.

He is lovingly survived by his sons, John Yosh of West Palm Beach, FL and Andrew Yosh of Chapel Hill, NC, his mother, Eleanor of Mt. Arlington and his fiancée, Linda Fonda, of Dover, NJ. He is also survived by seven siblings, James and his wife Susan Yosh of Chesterfield, VA, Jacqueline and her husband James Danbrowney of Port Monmouth, NJ, Christopher Yosh of E. Stroudsburg, PA, Joseph and Cheryl Yosh of Lake Hopatcong, NJ, Kimberly and her husband Alfred Cianella of Stewartsville, NJ, Carolyn and her husband Robert Lake of Morris Plains, NJ and William and his wife Gail of Flanders, NJ as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his father James.

Steve graduated from Farleigh Dickenson University with a BS in chemistry and from Centenary University with an MBA while working full time in the chemical industry.  He retired from BASF in 2019 after 30 years.  He was a member and ushered at the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary for 25 years and was also a past grand knight of the Knights of Columbus Joyce Kilmer Council 2483 in Hackettstown.

Visitation will be held at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ on Sunday, November 26, 2023 from 2-6 pm.

A Funeral Mass will be held at the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Mary, 302 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ on Monday, November 27, 2023 at 10:30 am Burial will follow the mass in Pequest Union Cemetery, Great Meadows, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the charity of your choice.

    Saying goodbye to such a great guy and good friend is one of the most difficult things to do. We miss you so much already Steve….our hikes without you and your “Steve mile calculations” and delicious dinners after will never be the same again and will be so missed.     I’m very sad to get this terrible news and it was way too early. My sincere condolences to Linda and the Yosh family.
    It was my pleasure to work with Steve over so many years. He was always very kind, funny and knowledgeable.
    We had a lot of laughs on the road together. He will always be remembered.
