Terence Owen Byrne, Jr., 71, of Williamsburg, Virginia, passed away on April 17, 2026.
Terence also lived in Budd Lake, New Jersey, and Little River, South Carolina, forming lasting friendships and leaving a meaningful impact in each place he called home.
Born with a generous spirit and a deep sense of community, Terry lived a life defined by his Catholic faith, family, and service to others. He dedicated much of his life to public service, serving with the Mount Olive Township Police Department and as a New Jersey State Trooper for over 30 years. In addition, he was a member of the Budd Lake Fire Department and a member of the Knights of Columbus, further reflecting his lifelong commitment to protecting and helping others.
Terry attended Trenton State College, where he was a member of Sigma Tau Chi and met the love of his life, Andrea. Together, they built a life centered on family, laughter, and unwavering support for one another.
He was a devoted husband to Andrea, a proud father to Terence Owen Byrne, III (Melissa Byrne) and Jennifer Grizzle (Patrick Grizzle), a loving brother to Barbara Camolilla and Colleen Milby, and a proud uncle to his nieces and nephews. His greatest joy came from being “Grampy” to his cherished grandchildren—Abigail, Fletcher, Scarlett, and Rosslyn—who brought immense pride and happiness to his life.
Terence had a lifelong love of the New York Giants and enjoyed spending time on the golf course. He was also a proud member of multiple pipe bands in both New Jersey and South Carolina, a reflection of his deep appreciation for tradition and camaraderie. He was always happiest when surrounded by others and generously gave his time coaching and helping with multiple youth programs, always ready to guide, support, and encourage those around him. Known affectionately as “Uncle Terry” to many, his warmth and kindness extended far beyond his immediate family.
He will be remembered for his steady presence, his generous heart, and the countless lives he touched through simple acts of kindness, a great sense of humor, and very strong opinions.
