Szawaluk, Peter June 2, 1950 - September 14, 2023

Peter Szawaluk, age 73, of Hackettstown died Thursday, September 14, 2023 at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center.  Peter was born June 2, 1950 in Newton, NJ to the late George and Eugenia (Szczur) Szawaluk. In addition to his parents, Peter is preceded in death by his cherished brother Nickolas and his beloved Labrador Retrievers:  Jax and Bear.

Peter was previously employed by Verizon, Netcong NJ as a Lineman for 32 years before his retirement, after retirement from Verizon he worked at Polowy Stone Suppliers for 10 years as a Delivery Driver and was a Dealer Trade driver for Salerno Duane Infiniti of Denville and Sawyer Lyons Buick GMC of Randolph the several years.  He was an avid “car cruiser” and enjoyed attending car shows in his 1964 Pontiac LeMans, especially the Cops and Rodders shows.  In addition he was a former member of the IBEW Union Local #827 and was a NY Giants and Yankees fan.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Florence (Polowy) Szawaluk, his two daughters, Kari Severinsen and husband Tim, Susan Szawaluk, a son, Peter N. Szawaluk and wife Bailey, five grandchildren, Karly, Meredith, Christian, Taylen and Nickolas and his two grand dogs, Lucy and Porter.

A memorial service will be held 12:00 pm on Saturday, September 30 at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High St, Hackettstown, NJ with Rev. Grzegorz “Greg” Podsiadlo officiating.   A graveside service will follow at Pequest Union Cemetery, Great Meadows, NJ.

Memorial visitation will be Saturday, September 30 from 10am-12pm at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ.

    My condolences to the Szawaluk family for the loss of Pete He was one of the best guys I ever knew I remember him and his brother as kids cutting their hair and hunting with him later on in life We had a lot of laughs together He will be missed. God Bless
