Marilyn Wentworth

Marilyn Wentworth, aged 95, passed away on September 8, 2023, surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Jersey City on September 5, 1928, Marilyn was a woman of strength and resilience who left an indelible mark on those who knew her.
Marilyn attended St. Michael’s High School in Jersey City, where she laid the foundation for a life dedicated to faith, learning and service. Later in life, at the age of 52, Marilyn achieved a remarkable milestone by graduating Magna Cum Laude from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a degree in Business. Her achievement was a source of immense pride, demonstrating her determination and commitment to personal growth.
Marilyn was a beloved Aunt to many nieces and nephews, offering them unwavering support, guidance and love throughout her life. She cherished her role as a surrogate mother to them, and her nurturing presence will be deeply missed.She was predeceased by her husband James, with whom she shared many years of happiness andcompanionship, as well as her siblings, William Carroll, James Carroll, Joanne Vitale and Jack Carroll.
A celebration of Marilyn’s life will be held on Friday, September 15, from 5-8 PM at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, New Jersey, where friends and family can gather to share stories and memories. A Mass to commemorate her life will take place on Saturday, September 16 at 11:00 AM at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 302 High Street, Hackettstown, New Jersey.

She leaves behind a tapestry of memories that will be cherished for generations to come.
