 Daniel Yankiv, age 83, of Hackettstown died Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Warren Haven Nursing Home, Oxford, NJ.  Daniel was born March 11, 1936 in Passaic, NJ to the late John and Anna (Sveda) Yankiv. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Yankiv, and sister, Irene Zellars.

Mr. Yankiv lived in Passaic before moving to Allamuchy with his family in 1944. He graduated from Hackettstown High School, Class of 1954.  

Danny was an avid hunter and fisherman, along with his buddy Jay, Danny went to Canada for over 40 years to fish, now they are together once again fishing. In addition, he and his buddy Bruce would frequent Bruce’s property in New York State to hunt.

Danny loved to garden and in the early part of the year he would study the seed books to send for seeds, that he would plant and nurture in his greenhouse.

Danny was the Past Master of Independence Lodge, now known as Musconetcong Lodge, No 42, F&AM, Warren County Forest No. 14, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Past Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Member of National Active & Retired Federal Employees, NARFE. Member of the First Presbyterian Church and also served on the Session. Danny started the roast beef dinners as a fund raiser for the Church building fund. A member of the Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers, Local Union no. 4, for 26 years, also retired from Picatinny Arsenal as a Mason.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years: Barbara (Dellicker) Yankiv, daughters: Dana Yankiv Carpenter and husband Leslie, Suzanne Yankiv Raphaels and husband Jeffrey, grandson; Daniel Carpenter and fiancé Samantha Marshall, grandson; Stephen Carpenter and wife Danielle and great granddaughter, Olivia Grace and many nephews and nieces.

The funeral will be held 10:00 am on Friday, May 17 at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J. with Rev. Jeanette Hile officiating.  Burial will be in Hackettstown Union Cemetery, Hackettstown on Friday, May 17 following the service.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 16 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, Building Fund, 298 Main Street, Hackettstown, N.J. 07840 in memory of Daniel.

John A. Yori

 John A. Yori, age 52, a lifelong resident of Hackettstown, NJ died Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown, NJ.  John was born August 11, 1966 in Jersey City, NJ to Catherine (Gargiulo) Caggiano and the late John L. Yori.   

John was employed by PSE&G, Clifton, NJ as a Service Dispatcher, he loved his work and found great joy in working hard and being with his fellow workers.  He was a very generous individual who often donated to friends, family and those in need in the community.  John enjoyed bowling, fantasy football and cheering on the NY Giants. 

He is survived by his devoted wife: Tiffany (Milan) Yori, his loving mother Catherine (Gargiulo) Caggiano and step father Angelo, his brother, David Yori, a sister, Adrianne Rose Caggiano, his mother and father in law, Karen and Ronald Milan, a sister-in-law, Stephanie Milan Feblis and husband Feliberto, five nieces and nephews, Erinn, Ian, Xavier, Alize, Bryan and his beloved dogs, Stinky, Bumbles and Poopers.

Visiting hours will be Saturday, March 9, 2019 from 3-5 pm at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ.

Roy N. Yager

 Roy N. Yager, age 91, a lifelong resident of Hackettstown, NJ died Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at Heath Village.  Mr. Yager was born May 15, 1927 in Hackettstown to the late Charles and Helen (Dellicker) Yager.  In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his beloved wife Stella (Miller) Yager and his loving sister, Winifred Kingston.

Roy graduated Hackettstown High School in 1944 and along with his parents they owned and operated Yager Farms, Drakestown, NJ for years before selling in 1977.  He enjoyed his work and farmed with great passion.  In addition, he was an avid hunter and a member of the NEBO Hunting Club.  In the morning he could be found appreciating the latest edition of the Wall Street Journal.  He will be greatly missed by his devoted family. 

Roy is survived by his son, Raymond Kowalick and wife Beverly, his grandson, Kenneth Kowalick and wife Diane, 2 great granddaughters, Joan and Samantha Kowalick and 5 nieces, Kathy Kingston, Nancy Kingston, Carol Mucci-Kingston, Patty Mosher and Sally Kingston.

The funeral will be held 12:00 pm on Friday, August 10 at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J. with Chaplin Mario Spadaro officiating.  Burial follow at Pequest Union Cemetery, Great Meadows.

Chui Ling Yee

 Chiu Ling Yee, age 75, of Great Meadows, NJ formerly of Brooklyn, NY died Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Morristown Memorial Hospital Morristown, NJ.  Chiu was born October 11, 1941 in China. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband George Yee. 

Chui was a loving Homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her devoted family.

She is survived her son, Roddy Yee and wife Jenny, her daughter, Patricia Laing and husband Timothy, her sister in law, Nancy Yee and brother in law, Thomas Yee, her grandchildren, Brandon Yee, Alicia Laing, Hilten Yee and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, March 11 at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J.  Burial will be in Pequest Union Cemetery, Great Meadows following services.

Tomio Yamawaki

 Tomio Yamawaki, age 90, of Hackettstown formerly of Cliffside Park, NJ died Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center, Hackettstown, NJ.  Tomio was born March 22, 1926 in Rock Springs, WY. He is the son of the late Tokuzo and Mine (Omae) Yamawaki.  He was predeceased by his wife, Mitzi Kuehn-Yamawaki on September 6, 2015. 

He served as a Sargent in the US Army, and was employed for over 20 years as an Associate with M & M Mars, Hackettstown, NJ.  Tomio was an avid stamp, coin and oriental art collector, He enjoyed doing word search puzzles and Tomio had a passion for food, he loved to sit down with his family for a delicious meal.    

He is survived by 2 sons; Tomio Yamawaki II, Douglas Yamawaki, his daughter; Marjorie Milano and her husband Jeffrey; 6 grandchildren; Tomio III, Jeffery, Julianna, Melanie, Jared, Christopher,  8 great grandchildren; Tami Lynn, Cameron, Isabella, Kalysta, Ana, Ethan, Ava and Dalaina.

The funeral will be held 7:00 pm on Wednesday, April 20 at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J. with Pastor Ninabeth Metcalf officiating.  Cremation is private.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 20 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 pm at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ.

Bruce S. Yetter

Bruce S. Yetter, 74, of Hackettstown, NJ, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 14, 2014 at his residence with his loving family at his side.  Born March 28, 1940 in Bethlehem, PA; he was the son of the late Matthew P. & Catherine Starner Yetter.

Bruce and his family have lived in Hackettstown since 1972 coming from Maywood, NJ.  Prior to his retirement several years ago, Mr. Yetter was employed by the United Jersey Bank of Hackettstown as a loan officer. After his retirement, Bruce continued his profession on a part time basis at the former Skylands Community Bank which was also in Hackettstown. 

Bruce attended Liberty High School, Bethlehem, PA.  After his graduation, he proudly served our country in the United States Coast Guard from 1958 to 1962.  Always active in his community, Bruce was a  dedicated member of Kiwanis International, Hackettstown chapter for over 25 years.  Post retirement, he volunteered countless hours at the Joan Knechel Cancer Center of Hackettstown Regional Medical Center providing transportation for those needing treatment. Also, the study of his family’s genealogy was of great interest to him.

He is survived by two sons, Kevin Yetter of Hackettstown and Jason Yetter of Lebanon, Ohio.  One daughter, Lisa Ujvari of Hackettstown and a sister, Carol Mitchell of Bethlehem, PA.  In addition, Bruce was blessed with five grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Carl A. Youngman

Carl A. Youngman, age 64 of Hackettstown, NJ, born in Caldwell, NJ, raised in Mendham Township and Chester, NJ, died November 22,2013 at home. Carl is the son of the late Carl and Erna Youngman.

Carl was a member of the Chester Volunteer Fire Department and 32nd degree mason. Throughout the years he was owner of many businesses including Carl's Place in Chester and most recently Youngman Carpentry.

Carl is a devoted husband to Cathy (nee Bornemann); loving Father to Carl, Shane, Cody and Jake; proud Pop Pop to Carly, Jeremy, Siam, Jack, Maggie and Harry.

He is also survived by sisters Sue and husband Ted Eible and Connie and husband Art Zander, many nieces and nephews as well as cousins and in laws.

Carl lived his life his way and he will be powerfully missed.

A memorial service for Carl will be announced in December.

Rosanne Young

Rosanne Young passed away peacefully surrounded by her children, music and scripture on Sunday November 3rd, 2013 in Hackettstown, NJ. She was born on March 30, 1938, the daughter of the late Agnes and Edward Brady. She is also predeceased by 1 sister; Irene.

She grew up in Bergen County and graduated from Ridgefield Park High School in 1955. She married Robert Young, January 1961 and together they raised 2 sons: Robert and wife Kelli and  James and wife Lisa, 1 daughter Maureen Szot and husband David.   She leaves behind 13 adored grandchildren; Dierdre, Owen, Caroline, Maeve, Maireade, Emily, Eric, Craig, Krista, Kevin, Liam, Shannon and Connor, her surviving siblings; Marilyn Loiacono, Agnes Musto and husband Bill and Edward Brady and wife Ellen, and Rita Carnevale along with many beloved nieces and nephews.

She worked as an Executive Administrative Assistant for different organizations for many years, ending her working career with Schindler Elevator in Morristown, NJ.

She will be remembered by all who knew her as a loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.  Her faith in God was a soure of strength and resilience throughout her life, and an inspiration to those who loved her.

Dale A. Young

Dale A. Young, 79, of Hackettstown, NJ died on June 4, 2013. Born in Hackettstown, NJ on February 4, 1934 to the late Russell A. and Gladys L. (Sergent) Young.  He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Shirley (Benward) Young.

Dale was a graduate of Hackettstown High School, Class of 1952 and was co-captain of the football team.  He was employed by Hercules, Inc., Kenvil, NJ for 42 years. He also worked part time for years for Kostenbaders Liquor Store in Hackettstown, NJ and also for Harold Stephens Plumbing; Dale also did yard care for many local residents.   He was a 52 year member of Cataract Hose Co. # 1 and an exempt fireman, Hackettstown, NJ; Dale was one of the Charter members of the Warren Co. "Senior Hall of Fame"; he loved the game of horseshoes and was a member of the New Jersey Horseshoe Association.

In addition to his wife, Shirley, he is survived by a son Daniel A. and wife Sandra Young, Hackettstown, NJ; daughters Bonnie and husband Don Elston, Hackettstown, NJ and Robin Everingham, Sugar Hill, GA.; sister Jean and husband Warren Feller, Houston, TX; grandchildren David and wife Christa Elston and Edward Elston.

Visitation will be on Friday, June 7, 2013, 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High St., Hackettstown, NJ 07840.

Funeral Service will be on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Cochran Funeral Home.

Beatrice M. Young

Beatrice M.  Young, "Grandma B." of Hackettstown, N.J.peacefully went to sleep on Thursday, 04/26/12 at House of the Good Shepherd, Hackettstown, N.J.  with her loving daughter Terry, by her side.
Born December 21, 1925 in Newton, N.J. she was the daughter of the late William & Hazel Snook Gould. Beatrice has lived in the Hackettstown area for the past 18 yrs. coming from Newton, N.J. where she lived all of her life.
She has been retired for many years and previously worked as a professional seamstress at the Franklin Dress Company of New Jersey. She was a member of Local #161 Garment Workers Union for many years. "Grandma B" loved being with her family and working on puzzles and crosswords.
She is survived by a daughter: Terry Lee Armstrong of Hackettstown, N.J.  and 4 Grandchildren, Tammy Humphrey - Green Twp.N.J. , Keisha Gallegos - California, Lorie Getchius - Blairstown, N.J. & Dana Yohner - California. She also had 9 Great Grandchildren. She was predeceased by her Husband, Leon Whitfield Young, Jr. also known as "Shorty". Daughter, Vicki May Berry and a sister, Dorothy Ernst.

Mildred Marie Young

Mildred Marie Young, 93, died 1/21/2012 in Crestwood, Will's Point Tx. Mildred lived in Hackettstown, NJ most of her life and was born in Independence Township, NJ on 6/23/1918.

Marie was the wife of the Late Earl Thomas Young (May 1995). Marie met her husband in high school and married in May 1938 and were inseperable.

Marie was the daughter of the late William and Maude(Ditler) Sutton. When her mother died in 1918 she was raised by her father and stepmother, Beula Sutton.

Marie is survived by 1 Daughter: Jo Ann Huser, Wills Point, TX., Godmother to Nancy Globe Miller, Grandmother to Richard Rogers Jr., Jacqueline Kurnath, Pamela Rafalko, Daniel Rogers, Lisa Young and Terry Young, Great Grandmother to 14 wonderful Great Grandchildren, Maries is predeceased by 1 Son- Thomas Young; 1 Brother-Charles Sutton; 1 Sister: Margaret Sutton Wheeler Searles and 1 Step Brother: Roland Bull.

Marie worked at the East Orange Hosiery in Hackettstown, NJ after she graduated from Hackettstown High School in 1936.

Marie was a homemaker who assisted her husband (a builder) with finishing touches of projects, painting, staining and choosing flooring. They converted an army bus into a home on wheels and traveled to 49 of the 50 states, including Alaska. They also traveled through much of Canada and British Columbia. Marie was a life member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was active as a Sunday School teacher, with the church bazaar and in the Thrift Store to name a few. She was also a member of the US Army Observers.
