Joan Jacob

Joan Jacob (Cina), 86, of Hillsborough, New Jersey died peacefully on August 6, 2019.

Born in New York on June 9, 1933 to Peter and Eleanor (Beta) Cina.  Joan was the loving wife to the late Lee Jacob. 

She resided in Hillsborough for 60 years.

She worked for 18 years at Foothill Acres Rehabilitation Center as a Nurse’s Aide.

Joan loved her morning coffee, tv dramas, ice cream, flowers, and most of all family time.

Joan was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.  She is survived by her two sons.  John Jacob (Carol) of Franklin Township, NJ and Peter Jacob (Missy) of Great Meadows, NJ.  Joan is also survived by her 6 grandchildren:   Shannon, Ariel, Eric, Laura, Thomas and Mary. 

She will be deeply missed by her family.

A Visitation will be held on Friday August 9th from 4 to 7:30 followed by a Memorial service from 7:30 to 8 at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840.

Dianne S. Johansson

 Dianne S. Johansson, age 78, of Bangor, PA formerly of Hackettstown, NJ died Friday, December 7, 2018 at Hospice House of St. Luke's, Bethlehem, PA.  Dianne was born April 16, 1940 in Rockaway, NJ to the late Preston and Gladys (Hammel) Smith.   In addition to her parents Dianne is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Henning B. Johansson, 4 brothers, Sherwin, Leland, Durand, and Kenyon K. Smith, 2 sisters, Marilyn McPeak and Glenda Bidgood.

She was the owner operator of Whispering Pines Antiques of Beattystown, NJ.  Diane was a member of the Trinity United Methodist church, enjoyed antiquing, quilting and sewing.  Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and watching her beloved granddaughter perform.

Dianne is survived by 2 daughters, Patricia Johansson - Nauman and fiancée Nick Bellanco,Tracy Patchen and husband George, 2 sisters, Gyl Fela and husband Martin, June Stephens and a granddaughter, Jennifer Patchen.

The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ with Dr. Rev. Frank Fowler officiating.  Burial will follow at Pequest Union Cemetery, Great Meadows.

Visitation will be Monday, December 10, 2018 from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ.

Ruth Caroline Johanson

 Ruth Caroline Johanson, age 84, a resident of Hackettstown for the past 53 years died Monday, November 5, 2018 peacefully at home.  Ruth was born February 27, 1934 in Bronx, NY to the late Anthony and Ruth Anna (Sweeny) Campbell.  In addition to her parents Ruth is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Cornelius Johanson and daughter, Karen Johanson

She was employed by TY Ward Monument Co., Hackettstown, NJ as a Clerk for many years before retiring.  Ruth was a member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, and the Ladies VFW Auxiliary both of Hackettstown, NJ, enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, baking, gardening, and was an avid Bingo player. In addition, she was an avid reader and a devoted caregiver of her two grandsons. 

She is survived by her loving son, Neal Johanson, her cherished daughter, Susan Egan and her husband Steven, her sister, Jane Campbell, her adoring grandsons, Steven and Kyle Egan.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held 1:00 pm on Friday, November 9 at Church Of The Assumption Of The Blessed Mary, 305 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J. with Father Antony Arockiadoss officiating.  Burial will be in Pequest Union Cemetery, Great Meadows following the mass.

Visitation will be Friday, November 9, 2018 from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm  at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ.

Robert D. Jones

 Robert Douglas Jones, 92, of Heath Village, Hackettstown, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2018. Born June 29, 1925 in Brooklyn, NY, Robert was the son of the late Philip F. & Florence Richardson Jones. Mr. Jones lived in the Hackettstown area for the past six years having moved from Maplewood, NJ where he resided for forty-one years. He grew up on Long Island, graduated from Baldwin High School in 1943 and entered the US Navy.

Robert proudly served his country from 1943 to 1946 as a radio and communication specialist in the Pacific during World War II. After his military service, Bob continued his schooling at Amherst College, graduating with honors and was selected for membership in the PHI BETTA KAPPA Society. After college, he began a career with Prudential Insurance in Newark, NJ and retired as a manager with their Actuarial Department. Bob loved music, played both piano and organ, and was still giving bridge lessons at 90. He was a long time member of the Presbyterian Church in Basking Ridge, NJ.

Mr. Jones is survived by his sister, Carol A. Fuller of Stowe, VT, sister, Nancy J. Placko of Andover, NJ, and brother, Peter D. Jones of Centerville, OH. At Robert’s request, a graveside service will take place at the cemetery of the Presbyterian Church, Basking Ridge, NJ on Thursday June 14, 2018 at 4:30 pm. George Journey, 58

George A. Journey of Long Valley passed away peacefully on September 25, 2017. He was in his home and surrounded by loved ones. George’s biggest priority was always his family and is survived by his wife

and best friend, Bernice Mea, his daughter, Mariangela Journey (Mimi) of Boston, his son George

Journey of York PA, and Nick Mea of Las Vegas, NV.

George was the owner of Homestyle Kitchens and Bath in Mt. Olive, NJ where he took pride in catering to customers’ needs as well as being a stand-up business man. He also helped out where he could and was a generous contributor to Habitat for Humanity.

George had a deep appreciation for antiques and spent all his free time collecting, expertly repairing and selling his finds. He had passion for music and could always be found taking care of the landscaping around the house while listening to the local WNTI radio station. George truly enjoyed the simple things in life – family, music, and making others happy.

He would sum it up:

                                                                    Be not burdened with times of sorrow

                                                                     I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow

                                                                    My life’s been full, I savored much

                                                                    My precious family, a loved one’s touch

                                                                    Perhaps my time seemed all too brief

 Rosemary Johnson, age 69, of 7 Walter Terrace, Hackettstown died Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at home in Hackettstown.  Rosemary was born March 6, 1948 in Passaic, NJ. She is the daughter of the late Andrew and the late Mary (Amico) Disparti.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her sister, Donna Maria Disparti.

Constance S. Johnston

 Constance S. Johnston, age 72, of Allamuchy Township, NJ formerly of Jefferson, Iowa died Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at home.  Constance was born June 10, 1944 in Jefferson, IA. She is the daughter of the late Donald and Maxine (Francis) Ebersole. In addition to her parents Connie is preceded in death by 1 daughter; Brenda Sue Johnston and 1 brother; Max Ebersole.

She was previously employed by Jefferson Manor, Jefferson, Iowa as a Dietician.  Connie was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening and cooking.  He greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her loving grandchildren. 

She is survived by her daughter; Susan Safarpour and her husband Dan, 4 grandchildren;  Mercedes Safarpour; Remington Safarpour; Sonia Safarpour, Lea Safarpour, 1 sister In law; DeAnn Ebersole, 2 nephews , Brad and Adam Ebersole.

Visitation and burial will be in Jefferson, Iowa on Thursday, September 1, 2016 in the morning.

Annabelle M. Jones

Annabelle Marjorie Jones, 85 of Long Valley, NJ passed away at the home of her daughter, Bernice Mea in Washington Twp, NJ. Born March 26, 1931 in Bushkill Twp, PA, Annabelle was the daughter of the late Aaron & Bernice Phillips Bush. Annabelle lived in Long Valley for most of her adult life with her beloved late husband, George Jones, Jr. Together, they lived an active life within the community. Mrs. Jones was a member of the Long Valley Presbyterian Church where she previously served as a Deacon and was instrumental in establishing the church food pantry. She also served the community as the first woman special police officer in Long Valley. In addition, she and her husband, George loved to entertain friends, play golf, attend concerts and travel the world together. Annabelle is survived by a daughter, Bernice Mea; Son-in-law, George Journey and her beloved grandson, Nicholas Mea. She was predeceased by three brothers, George P. Bush, James W. Bush & William J. Bush and a sister, Frances Walters. Ruth Marie Johnson

 Ruth Marie Johnson, age 87, of Hackettstown, NJ died Saturday, April 30, 2016 at home. Ruth was born May 16, 1928 in Pittsburgh, PA. She was the daughter of the late George and Merrill (O'Donnell) Leech.  In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Roger C. Johnson in 1973, 2 step-daughters: Karen in 2006 and Candy in 2011.

Ruth was employed by Hackettstown Regional Medical Center in their Registration Department for many years before retiring.  Prior to that she was employed with George Michell, DDS.  Ruth was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Hackettstown, NJ.

A graveside service will be held at Union Cemetery, Hackettstown, NJ on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at 11 am.  Burial will follow the services.  Please meet at the cemetery.

She is survived by her loving daughter; Vicki Klaver, 5 brothers; George, David, Ron, Bob and Ed, 2 sisters; Erma and MaryAnn, a granddaughter; Jill Marie, 2 great-grandchildren, Evan and Nicole.

Lily M. Jordan

 Lily M. Jordan, age 86, of Hackettstown died Monday, February 22, 2016 at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center.  Lily was born May 18, 1929 in South Boston, VA. She is the daughter of the late Henry H. and Nancy P. (Lawson) Allen. She was predeceased by her husband, Late Donald Jordan on 2004, her son; Kenneth Allen in 2005 and 1 sister; Bernice VanDine.

She was formerly employed by BLD's, Hackettstown, NJ as a Waitress.  Lily was a past member of the Hackettstown Moose Lodge #816.  She enjoyed walking, crocheting and loved to go on cruises.

She is survived by her 2 nieces, Tina Meisten and her husband Charles, Joann Santiago, 1 nephew; Jonathan VanDine,  4 grandchildren; John Rockle, Matthew Rockle and his wife Jamie, Michael Rockle and Jennfier Bell, 7 great grandchildren.

The funeral will be held 10:00 am on Friday, February 26 at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J. with Pastor John Van Dine officiating.  Burial will be in Pequest Union Cemetery, Great Meadows following the funeral service.

Harry "Happy" B. Johnson

 Harry “Happy” B. Johnson, age 81, of Hackettstown formerly of Jersey City, NJ died Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown, NJ.  Harry was born May 4, 1934 in Jersey City, NJ. He is the son of the late Louis and Elizabeth Veronica (Watsen) Johnson.  Harry is also preceded in death by 1 son; Harry J. Johnson 

He served in the US Army during the Korean War from 1954 to 1956.  Harry was a Truck Driver for Ideal Supply and was a member of the Teamsters, Local #560 both of Jersey City, NJ.  He loved to camp, song trivia, Frank Sinatra, and his favorite sports teams were the NY Giants and Yankees.  Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

He is survived by his devoted wife: Kathleen (Kiernan) Johnson , 7 daughters; Donna Francisco and husband Anthony, Carol Ann Fredericks and husband Greg, Margaret Torres and husband Anthony, Bridget Johnson, Kathryn Hoffman, Jennifer Johnson, Krystle Johnson,  4 sons; George F. Jacques and wife Terry, Christopher P. Johnson and husband Donald Ryan, Edward Johnson and wife Melissa, Charles Kiernan, 1 sister;  Veronica Green and husband James, 14 grandchildren, Corinne, Jessica, Michael, Anthony, Nicole, Kyle, Laura, Gregory, Kaila, Christian, Jasmine, Jordan, Londyn, and Clinton, 9 great grandchildren; Tristan, Leighton, Tatum, Giovanni, Vincenzo, Adalynn, Jamal, Jehrell and Jerard.

Cornelius Johanson

Cornelius Johanson died peacefully at home on Dec. 1, 2015.  Cornelius, 86, died of complications from lung cancer. 

Cornelius was born in Manhattan, NYC, on July 18, 1929, and lived in the Bronx with his wife, Ruth, 81, and his children, Neal, Karen, and Susan, prior to their moving to Hackettstown more than 50 yrs. ago.  Cornelius served in the U. S. army during the Korean War and was a corporal in an artillery battalion.  Cornelius graduated from the City University of New York, and for many years he was employed as an accountant at Bell Laboratories in Whippany.  He also worked for the NJ State Department of Labor.  He was a commander of the Hackettstown chapter of the Veterans of Foreign War, he was a member of the Joyce Kilmer Council of the Knights of Columbus, and was a founding member of the Council’s bowling team.  Cornelius was a member of St. Mary’s parish, he was an avid golfer, and he enjoyed working in his yard.

Cornelius will be remembered most fondly as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.  . 

Cornelius is predeceased by his daughter, Karen, who died last Nov., also from cancer.  He is survived by his wife, Ruth, his son, Neal, his daughter, Susan Egan, his sister in law, Jane, and also by his son-in-law, Steve, and his grandsons Steven and Kyle.

Visitation will be held at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840 on Friday, December 4, 2015 from 4-8 pm.

A funeral mass for Cornelius will be held at St. Mary’s RC church on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 11 am with Father David Pekola officiating.    

Walter S. Jaworski

 Walter Jaworski, age 91, Lyons, NJ, resided in Hackettstown, NJ briefly but considered himself a lifelong resident of Brooklyn, NY died Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at Lyons Veterans Hospital.  Walter was born March 16, 1924 in Long Island City, NY. He is the son of the late Boleslaw and Czeslawa (Prusak) Jaworski.  He is preceded in death by his wife; Josephine (Ciernicki) Jaworski in 2002, and brother; Henry 

He proudly served in the US Army during World War II from 1943 to 1946.  Walter was employed by US Post Office, Brooklyn NY as a Postal Carrier and was active in establishing the union in the Post Office.  He was a member of the American Legion, Hackettstown, NJ Post #164, he was an avid gardener and loved spending time with his devoted family.

He is survived by 3 daughters; Paula Mann, Joanne Arvay and husband William, Veronica Westhoff and husband Henry "Pat", a son; Walter Jaworski and wife Pamela; a sister In law; Theresa Jaworski, 9 grandchildren; Alexa, Vanessa, Anthony, David, Peter, James, Christopher, Jonathan and Laura, a great grandchild; Natalie.

A funeral mass will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, November 14 at St. Luke's R.C. Church, 265 W. Mill Street, Long Valley, NJ with Father Michael Drury officiating.  Burial will be in Hackettstown Union Cemetery, Hackettstown following the mass.

Albert E. Johnson

 Albert E. Johnson, age 66, of Hackettstown, formerly of Lake Hopatcong, NJ died Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Compassionate Care Hospice, Dover, NJ.  Albert was born November 27, 1948 in Dover, NJ. He is the son of Alice (Woomer) Johnson and the late John Johnson.  

He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War.  He was employed by and a proud 40 year member of IBEW #102, Parsippany, NJ as an Electrician.  Al grew up on Lake Hopatcong and enjoyed fishing.  Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife: Kim (Robinson) Johnson, 2 sons; Matthew Johnson and Sean Johnson; his mother; Alice (Woomer) Johnson, 2 sisters; Carol Walsh, Cindy Osborne, 1 brother; Raymond Johnson, 6 grandchildren; Chris, Tyler, Dylan, Sydney, Liam and Jack.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 4 from 3:00 – 7:00 pm at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ.  Following the visitation the US Navy will hold a brief military honors service.

Susan M. Jamieson Snyder, 49, of Franklin, NJ passed away at her home on Friday, March 13th 2015.  Born July 7, 1965 in Denville, NJ, Susan was the daughter of Helen T. Dunn Jamieson and the late Robert P. Jamieson.

Susan and her husband Glenn A. Hall, Jr. have lived in Franklin, NJ for the past five years coming from Lafayette, NJ.  She was last employed as a register attendant at the Hess Express in Franklin and previously for Shoprite, Inc.
 
In addition to her Husband, Glenn, Susan is survived by her son, Joseph Ficarra of Hackettstown, NJ a daughter, Amanda Ficarra of Franklin, NJ; Her mother, Helen T. Jamieson and a sister, Theresa Casella, both of Andover, NJ; One loving granddaughter, Mackenzie. Lastly, Susan was predeceased by a son, Adam, who died in 1988.

 Niels A. Jensen, age 80, of Independence Township died Friday, December 26, 2014 at Andover Nursing Home, Andover, NJ.  Niels was born February 11, 1934 in Denmark. He is the son of the late Aage and Betty Jensen.   

He was a Port Captain for Torm Lines, NYC, NY.  Niels is survived by his wife: Randi (Pettersen) Jensen, 2 sisters; Susanne and Nicolina and 1 brother; Ole Jensen.

Karen L. Johanson

Karen L. Johanson, 55, of Hackettstown, NJ, died Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Newton Hospital, Newton, NJ with her loving family by her side. 

Born November 23, 1958 in New York, NY, Karen was the daughter of Cornelius J. & Ruth Campbell Johanson of Hackettstown. Karen and her family have lived in Hackettstown since 1965 coming from the Bronx, NY.  She was employed by Lucent-Alcatel of Whippany, NJ for the past 38 years currently serving as the project manager.

Ms. Johanson attended Our Lady of the Mountain, Schooley's Mountain, NJ where she loved serving as C.C.D. teacher. She was a member of the Pioneer's Association with Lucent.  Karen served passionately as a committee member of the  annual Joan Knechel Cancer Walk which raised funding for the Joan Knechel Cancer Cener of Hackettstown Community Medical Center.

In addition to her Mom & Dad, Karen is survived by her brother, Neal A. Johanson of Hackettstown, NJ; A sister, Susan & her husband Steven Egan of Belvidere, NJ. Two precious nephews, Steven & Kyle.  Her loving Aunt, Jane Campbell of Yonkers, NY.

Dorothea J. Johnson

Dorothea Jean Johnson, 73, of Hackettstown, NJ died Monday, November 17, 2014 at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center, Hackettstown, NJ. Born November 5, 1941 in Greene County, PA, Dorothea was the daughter of the late William H. & Jessie Kinsell Boyd, Sr. of Clarksville, PA.
Mrs. Johnson has lived in Hackettstown since 2007 coming from Budd Lake, NJ. Previously, Mrs. Johnson and her beloved, late husband, Ronald E. Johnson, traveled extensively and lived outside the United States due to Mr. Johnson's service with the AT&T Corporation. During that time, Dorothea was active with the Red Cross while living in Korea for several years.
Dorothea is survived by her loving family; Three sons, Tim Johnson & wife Shari of Oxford, NJ, Jeff & wife Karen Johnson of Hackettstown and Doug & wife Gerri Johnson of Great Meadows, NJ. Six loving Grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Kelsey, Samantha, Zachary, Tyler & Aidan. She was predeceased by two brothers, William "Buddy" Boyd, Jr. and Sheldon Boyd.
A memorial visitation and service will be held on Friday, 11-21-14 from 6-8pm with services beginning at 8:00pm at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High St, Hackettstown, NJ, 07840. Robert Johnson, Jr.

 Robert Johnson, Jr, age 46, of Independence Township, N.J. died Sunday, October 26, 2014 at his home. Robert was born January 26, 1968 in Denville, NJ. He is the son of the late Suellen (Sutton) Johnson.

He was employed by Loran Associates in Randolph, NJ as a Set Builder. Robert was a lifelong resident of Independence Township. He was a member of The 69er's Rod and Gun Club of Independence Township, as well as a member of the NRA. Robert loved wood working and was an avid hunter.

He is survived by his brother; Charles Johnson and his sister; Michele DeFazio her husband Darrick, his beloved nephews; Joey, Billy & Jesse and his loyal friend, Bunker.

The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J. with Rev. Joseph McCarthy officiating.  Burial will be in Pequest Union Cemetery, Great Meadows following services.

Visitation will be held on, Wednesday, October 29, 2014 from 4-8 pm at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J.

Peter J. Judge

 Peter J. Judge, age 94, of Dover, NJ died Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Franciscan Oaks of Denville, NJ.  Peter was born November 4, 1919 in Wilkes Barre, PA. He is the son of the late John and the late Helen (Kratz) Judge.  He was married to the late Mary (Lalley) Judge. 

He retired from Houdaille Construction Materials Inc. as a Group Vice-President in 1978 after 20 years of employment with the company. Peter was a devoted family man with a wonderful sense of humor.  He enjoyed hiking, playing cards, reading, throwing horseshoes, bocce ball, cooking, photography and in his youth boxing.  He was an avid Yankees fan and loved watching the games on TV.

He is survived by 2 daughters: Kathleen Riss and husband Al, and Mary Neubauer; and 1 son, Peter Judge and wife Regina; 7 grandchildren, Marybeth and companion Tom, Frank and companion Alex, Peter, Lori, Shannon, Kevin and wife Meredith, and Christopher; 9 great grandchildren, Stephanie, Kristine, Nicole, Frances, Emily, Christopher, Chloe, Eleanoire Rose, and Quinn; and 2 great great grandchildren, Maddelyn and Olivia. He was also predeceased by his son-in-law Frank.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Cochran Funeral Home with Father David Pekola officiating.  Burial will be in Pequest Union Cemetery, Great Meadows following services.

Theresa A. Johnson (nee-Zalasky)

 Theresa A. (nee-Zalasky) Johnson, age 71, of Hackettstown formerly of Union, NJ died Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center, Hackettstown, NJ.  Theresa was born October 10, 1942 in Dover, NJ. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Minnie (Olenik) Zalasky. 

Theresa was employed by Hackettstown Imaging Services as an Administrative Assistant and was a member of St. Mary’s Church of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Hackettstown, NJ.  

She is survived by 1 son, Kent Johnson; 1 sister, Angela Stevens, 3 brothers, Thomas, Richard and Vince Zalasky.

A memorial service will be held 7:30 pm on Monday, June 16 at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J. with Father David Pekola officiating.  Cremation is private.

Rosemary Jaramillo

 Rosemary Jaramillo, age 57, of Hackettstown died Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at her daughter's home.  Rosemary was born December 29, 1956 in Rahway, NJ. She grew up and spent her adolescents in West Orange, NJ. She is the daughter of the late Robert Paul and Mildred (Veronko) Reamer. 

She was employed by AT&T Morristown, NJ as a District Manager for many years. Rosemary was of the catholic faith, enjoyed bead work and making jewelry. 

She is survived by ; Daughter: Angela Matassino and husband Chris, 5 Brothers: Robert Reamer and wife Joan, James Reamer, Joseph Reamer and wife Leslie, Raymond Reamer, Thomas Reamer, 4 Sisters: Marie Barton and husband Russ, Anne Halpin and husband Kevin, Theresa Tarantino and husband Richard, Christina Reamer, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 10:30 am on Saturday, April 12 at Our Lady Of The Mountain Church, 2 E. Springtown Rd, Long Valley, NJ with Rev. Msgr. Joseph Goode officiating.

Linda Carpenter Jakobsen

Linda Carpenter Jakobsen, daughter of the late Leslie Ford "Bucky" Carpenter and the late Dorothy Virginia Toye Carpenter passed away peacefully with her family by her side.  Linda is predeceased by her husband John H. Jakobsen.  Also predeceased by her son, John Ford Jakobsen.

Linda was born and raised in Hackettstown, NJ before she moved to Mt. Lake, where she lived for 8 years.  She was an active member and treasurer of the Mt. Lake firehouse ladies auxiliary.  Linda then moved to Clearwater, Florida where she began many relationships.

Linda built on her creative talents to launch a successful 34 year career in real estate, specializing in the Clearwater, FL area.  She found her niche as a realtor by combining her innate creativity, business savvy and people skills.  She was a top producer receiving many outstanding sales achievement awards and recognition throughout her career, including the 100% club yearly.  As a veteran realtor with Re/Max ACR Elite Group, Linda worked tirelessly with many of her loyal clients - even assisting children and grandchildren of her original clients to find the perfect home or buyer.  She was a true lady, always thoughtful and interested in getting to know people; as a result, many clients became personal friends.

Linda was passionate about interior design and sewing, creating numerous curtains, linens, Halloween costumes and clothing.  She also had an avid enjoyment for a competitive game of dominos with all of her close friends and cooking for the family.  Her "eggie" sandwiches were more than famous!

Survived by daughter, Melissa Walge and boyfriend William Groff and step son Rick Ayer and wife Jennifer Ayer, eight grandchildren; Nancy Stelling and husband Robert Stelling, Bernard Walge and fiance Carmella Bruschetta, John Tyson Walge and wife Kim Walge, Ashlee Walge and fiance Septembio  Garo, Alyssa Ayer, Kali Ayer, Morgan Ayer, and Jakob Groff, and great grandchildren, Theodore, Landen, Remington,  Cooper, Marcus, Buck, Bernie and Jak.  Lastly, Linda will be missed dearly by her beloved "Brandi", a blue-tick coon hound with a spoiled personality only a mother could love!

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 10th from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at the  Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High St., Hackettstown, NJ. 07840

Miriam F. Johnson

Miriam F. Johnson, age 90, of Hamburg, NJ died Monday, January 21, 2013 at her residence. Miriam was born August 26, 1922 in Brooklyn, NY. She is the daughter of the late Thomas and Jenna (Thompson) Robinson. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Johnson in 1979.

She was a loving and devoted homemaker.
Miriam was a parishioner of St. Jude R.C. Church, Budd Lake, NJ. She lived in Budd Lake, NJ from 1961 to 2009 before moving to Hackettstown, NJ, and lastly moving to Hamburg, NJ. She was an active member of the church and was on the building committee for the new church when it was built. She was a member of the Rosary Society. Miriam was also on the Mt. Olive Election Committee.

She is survived by a son & wife, Edward T. & Sarah Johnson, Hackettstown, NJ;two daughters Miriam & Lee Lowell, Hamburg, NJ; and Barbara & Ethan Hashagen, Mt. Lake, NJ; 6 grandchildren, Vicki Gulick, Kent Kieffer, Kelly Holzmacher, Chuck Lyons, Roxanne Lyons And Kelly Johnson; 6 great grandchildren, Devin, Kyle, Derek, Shannon, Peyton and Andrew.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30 am on Monday, January 28, 2013 at St. Jude R.C. Church, 17 Mt Olive Road, Budd Lake, NJ. Burial will be in Our Lady Of The Mountain Cemetery, Long Valley, NJ

Martha V. Jones-Payne, age 68, of  Panther Valley, Allamuchy, NJ died Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at her residence.  Martha was born November 29, 1943 in Memphis, TN. She is the daughter of the late Duria and Erma (Turner) Jones. 

She was employed by Warren County Detention Center, Oxford, NJ as a Social Worker. 

Martha lived in Panther Valley, Allamuchy, NJ for the last 6 years coming from Mansfield, NJ. She was a member of Panther Valley Ecumenical Church; she was awarded Employee of the Year at the Youth Detention Center, Oxford, NJ; Martha enjoyed music and singing. She was part of the Team Town Singers during the 50's and 60's at WDIA radio station in Memphis, TN.

She is survived by a son, Rochester Payne;  three brothers, Godfrey, Travis and Connie Jones;  

Predeceased by her late brothers, Aaron, Kelsey, and Duria Jones, Jr.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at Panther Valley Ecumenical Church, Allamuchy, NJ

Elizabeth Katherine Jacobus, age 88,  of Heath Village, Washington Township, (Morris Co.), NJ died Friday, August 31, 2012 at Heath Village. Elizabeth was born October 1, 1923 in Newark, NJ. She is the daughter of the late Seth and Leticia (McClurg) McBride.

She was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of Chester, NJ. 

She is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Jean & Joseph Koehler, Long Valley, NJ and Carol & Bruce Myers, Glen Gardner, NJ; three grandchildren, Matthew Koehler, Laurie Matthews and Brian Myers; five great grandchildren. Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband, the late Earl J. Jacobus.

John Ford Jakobsen, age 41, of Lower Mt. Bethel, Pa, died Saturday, March 10, 2012 at home. Mr. Jakobsen was born August 18, 1970 in Newton, NJ. He is the son of Linda Carpenter Jakobsen formerly of Hackettstown, NJ the late John H. Jakobsen.

He was self-employed for many years.
John enjoyed spending time with his family, always making himself available to those who needed him. He will be forever remembered by his friends and loving family.
