 Joseph F. Tierney, 80 of Hackettstown died Friday May 15, 2020 at his residence.
Born in Brooklyn, New York he was the son of the late Thomas and Alice(Feeney) Tierney.
Joe had been an assistant vice president for Chase Manhattan Bank in New York City before retiring.
His main interest was his grandchildren, he was called "Papa Joe" by those that knew him.
He was also an avid sports fan, the Brooklyn Dodgers, the NY Mets and the NY Giants were his favorites.
He was a member of the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Hackettstown,
Joe is survived by his wife, Lorraine (Parisi) Tierney, 2 sons, Steven and his wife Deborah and Joseph, a sister Alice Walsh and his 5 beloved grandchildren, Kyle, Shannon, Caeley, Emily and Maria.
A memorial mass will be held when it is again safe to gather together.

Marie Patricia Thomas

 Marie Patricia Thomas, age 93, of Hackettstown died Sunday, May 10, 2020 at House of the Good Shepherd, Hackettstown, NJ.  Marie was born July 14, 1926 in Newark, NJ to the late Lorence and Florence (Keller) Thomas.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter,Jayne Walsh.  

She was previously employed by Home Health Care, Phillipsburg, NJ as a Home Health Care Aid, prior to that she was a Nursing Assistant for Massachusetts Eye and Ear Hospital, Boston, MA.  Marie was an accomplished poet, and a devoted mother and grandmother.She always went above and beyond for her children and grandchildren.  

She is survived by her loving sons,Robert J Litfin, Richard A. Litfin, two cherished daughters,  Judy Alpaugh, Jeannie Hezel and husband Carl, three grandchildren, Craig Capinjola and wife Vangie, Bradford Walsh and Travis Hezel.  She was and always will be the greatest mother, grandma in the whole world.

Charles W. Tice

Charles W. Tice, 78, of Hackettstown, NJ, passed away at Hackettstown Medical Center on Saturday, December 7, 2019. Born on March 31, 1941 in Summit, NJ, “Charlie” was the son of the late George & Joanna (Ida) Bock Tice.

Before his retirement, Charlie was employed by Union Local #825, Jersey City, NJ as a crane operator. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Viet Nam era. A true patriot, Charlie was a member of Blue Ridge Post #164 American Legion of Hackettstown, NJ. He served as past Post Commander of Post #164 Hackettstown and Post #43 American Legion of Florham Park, NJ. In addition, Charlie previously served as the Sergeant at Arms and Vice Commander of the Warren County, New Jersey American Legion.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Maureen Sperry Tice of Hackettstown; one son, Rich Tice of North Carolina, step-daughter, Donna Rein  and four grandchildren, Matthew, Brian, Nick & Tina, one brother Gregory Tice and his wife Joan, one niece Melanie Kynor Burns and one nephew Christopher Kynor.  He was pre deceased by a sister, Joanna Tice Kynor.  

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at Blue Ridge Post #164 American Legion, 450 Willow Grove Street, Hackettstown, NJ, 07840 with Legion services and honors beginning at 6:00pm.

Deeply loved mother, grandmother, confidant, sidekick and friend, 90.

We lost a good one this year. Our beloved mother and grandmother, Imelda Tressa left this world on Tuesday October 15^th surrounded by her family at her home in Hackettstown, NJ at the age of 90. Imelda, born in Liverpool England on February 18^th, 1929 grew up an only child in a household with kind hearted, intelligent, hard working parents, Kathleen and Joseph Barkley. In her early years she spent her time waiting tables at the local pub and studying to be a stenographer while living life in the city. She met her husband, while he was stationed with the Airforce in England who would later bring her to the United States. A place she would call home for the next 67 years. In America, Imelda toured and traveled before settling in Bloomfield, NJ with her mother and her beautiful daughter, Bernadette. Imelda lived and thrived as a single parent spending over 35 years as an executive secretary at Edwards and Kelcey in Newark and Morristown, NJ. Bernadette, her only child, would meet and marry Dennis DeBlasio becoming Imelda’s son-in-law. And in 1986, Imelda would celebrate her first and only grandchild and future sidekick, Devon DeBlasio. For the next 33 years Imelda helped support her family and raise her grandchild with a loving heart and spoiled hand. During her time on this earth, Imelda enriched so many lives as a friend, close confidant, pseudo-sister, and second grandmother. Imelda was a caring, outspoken, and sometimes stubborn woman who would always tell it like it was with honesty and vigor. Imelda loved a good laugh, a good cup of coffee, and a good glass of scotch. She was more than a mother. More than a grandmother. Imelda was there for you when it mattered most. It was much too soon for her to be taken from our lives, but she will continue to live on in our hearts. Imelda is survived by her daughter Bernadette DeBlasio, son-in-law Dennis DeBlasio, grandson Devon DeBlasio, daughter-in-law Jill DeBlasio, as well as all the close relatives, friends, and loved ones she cared for, inspired, and delighted. She has now joined her mother and father at rest and in peace.

Patricia Ann Throckmorton, 73, of Hackettstown, NJ passed away on May 19, 2019 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Born in San Diego, CA, Patricia was the daughter of the late Joseph & Adel Kleinecht Grosch. She had lived in the Hackettstown area for the past five years coming from Nutley, NJ and previously the Morris and Somerset County areas. She spent her childhood in Bellville, NJ. Patricia is survived by two sons, John Robert Throckmorton and James Throckmorton. Two daughters, Cheryl Throckmorton and Tara Seidel. Two brothers, Joseph and Nicholas Grosch. Ten loving grandchildren, Carlyn, Kylie, Delaney, Jacob, Lia, Emily, Patrick, Cassidy, Avery & Elsie. Barbara E. Thompson

Barbara E. Thompson, Hackettstown, age 66, beloved mother, sister and aunt passed away Thursday, March 28, 2019 at home.  Barbara was born June 4, 1952 in Newark, NJ to the late Walter and Veronica (Kearney) Oranchak. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her sister Kathleen Reed. Barbara spent most of her career working as a Paralegal and in more recent years was the Mortgage Closing Supervisor for Unity Bank. Raised in Basking Ridge, she was a proud mother who embraced time spent with her children, enjoyed vegetable gardening, eagerly awaited the flowering of her spring bulbs and  looked forward to multiple group outings with family and friends to baseball games. She always had a positive upbeat attitude. We will miss her infectious sense of humor and quick wit. 

Herbert Tierney

Our father, Herbert C. Tierney of Hackettstown New Jersey died peacefully in his sleep on March 21. He was 91 years old. His wife Rita Becker pre-deceased him over three years ago.
He was retired from Picatinny Arsenal. He also served in the United States Navy.
He is survived by his six children: Rita Ann Kopacz (husband Edward) of Waretown, New Jersey, Kevin (wife Terry) of Hackettstown, New Jersey, Herb of Budd Lake, New Jersey, Brian (wife Donna) of Hackettstown, New Jersey, Darren of Andover,  New Jersey and Michael (wife Tina) of Mount Olive,  New Jersey.
He is also survived my 11 grandchildren: John, Erin, Kevin, Corey, Ryan, Kaitlyn, Tara, Maura, Collin, Michael and Jessica.
His five great grandchildren include Paris, Aiden and Ainsley of New York and Declan and Finnegan of Hackettstown, New Jersey.
A mass will be held at Saint Mary’s Church in Hackettstown on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 2:00 pm. Burial of remains will take place at Hackettstown Union Cemetery following the funeral service.

Thompson, age 91, grew up in Morris County, NJ then moved his family to Sussex county where he lived most of his life, died Friday, January 25, 2019 at Warren Haven Nursing Home, Oxford, NJ.  William was born July 20, 1927 in Dover, NJ to the late Alfred MacDougal and Martha E. (Hendershot) Thompson.  In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jean H. (Behler) Thompson in 2009, and his 2 brothers, Sidney and Ralph. 

Andrew J. Thaller

 Andrew J. Thaller, age 54, of Green Township, NJ died Monday, January 14, 2019 at Newton Memorial Hospital, Newton, NJ.  Andrew was born March 1, 1964 in Paterson, NJ to the late Andrew and Marjorie (Van Zilen) Thaller.  In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother Edward Thaller, and two sisters, Deborah Slater and Anna Spence. 

Andrew was employed by the Green Township Road Department, Green Township, NJ as a Mechanic for many years. Additionally Andrew used his automotive skills to help friends in need, always willing to lend a hand when someone needed his talents.  He was an avid Jets fan, enjoyed deep sea fishing and in his earlier years was a Boy Scout Leader.  Andy will be greatly missed by his family and friends. 

He is survived by his beloved wife, Sandy (Kuipers) Thaller, two cherished daughters, Brandie Thaller, Mandy Thaller, his loving son, Andy Thaller, his dear granddaughter, Danika, three sisters, Joanne Thaller Oswald, June Thaller, Marjorie Thaller, his mother in law, Tina Johnston, a brother in law, Jason Johnston, a sister in law, Samantha Hoagland and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held 11:00 am on Friday, January 18, 2019 at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J. with Rev. Mario Spardaro officiating. Cremation is private.

Thomas E. Tell

Thomas E Tell, age 80, of Hackettstown died Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Karen Ann Quinlan home for hospice of Newton, NJ.  Thomas was born January 3, 1938 in Brooklyn, NY. He is the son of the late Edward and the late Dorothy Alice (Kelly) Tell.   

He served in the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1959.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn (Reiss) Tell, one daughter KellyAnn Tell, one son and daughter in law, Thomas and Arletta Tell, one brother and sister in law, Gary and Jessica Tell, three sisters , Jacqueline, Arlene, Marilyn and her husband Dennis Macksoud, three grandchildren, Thomas, Caitlin, and Nicole, and In Laws, Roslyn and Frank Masiello.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J. 07840 at 10:00am with Father Joseph Good officiating.  Burial will be in Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton N.Y. on Thursday, October 11, 2018.

Grady "Marvin" Thomas

Grady “Marvin” Thomas, 76, of Hackettstown, NJ passed away at Morristown Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Henrietta, Texas on March 15, 1942, Marvin was the son of the late Grady V. & Anna Lee Cooper Thomas. Marvin has lived in Hackettstown, NJ with his loving family since 1973 having moved from Lebanon Twp., NJ.

Prior to his retirement, Mr. Thomas was employed by several dealerships in the Ford Automotive industires as a Parts and Service manager. He also drove a charter bus part-time for different bus lines most of his adult life and served as a truck driver for F&M Trucking of Knowlton Twp. NJ. In addition to his employment, Marvin was very active civically with the Jaycee’s of Clinton, NJ; Member and past Master of Colonial Prospect Lodge #24 F.&A.M, Eastern Star Patron of Musconetcong Lodge #107. Served many years as Warren County Committee Man, District One. He volunteered for 31 years as a Leader Country Squires 4-H Horse Club and was past president of the Warren County 4-H Horse Leaders Association. Member of the Washington United Methodist Church, Washington, NJ.

Marvin is survived by his beloved wife of 54yrs, Anna Marie Duyckinck Thomas of Hackettstown, one daughter, Stacy Thomas of Hackettstown. A brother, Kenneth and his wife Norma Thomas of Hackettstown; Two sisters, Sherron Cirello of Longwood, Fla. & Carolyn Ennis Griffin of Bridgewater, NJ. Two beloved grandchildren, Taylor Anderson and fiancé, Scott Howe of Flanders, NJ & Taryn Anderson of Charleston, South Carolina. He is also survived by many Nieces & Nephews as well as his loving canine companion, Samantha.

His family and friends will always remember him as someone who loved to make people smile and laugh, he always had a funny story to tell or a joke to share.

Judith E. Truex

Judith E. Truex, age 74, of Hackettstown formerly of Randolph NJ died Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at home in Hackettstown. Mrs. Truex was born September 1, 1943 in Dover, NJ to the late Joseph and Helen (Hamilton) Radler. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her late husband, Ron Truex and her former husband and friend, the late Patrick D'Elia.

Judy was formerly employed by Rockaway School District, Rockaway, NJ as a Teacher retiring  years ago. She was a member of the 4H Club and the Hackettstown Historical Society, in addition, she enjoyed hosting the Ghost Tours and participating in Civil War reenactments. Judy was an avid reader and gardener, she will be deeply missed by her friends and family.  

She is survived by devoted son, Michael D'Elia and his wife Marianna, her cherished grandchildren, Nicholas and Megan D'Elia, her cousin and best friend, Eileen McQuown, her beloved horses and cats.

Visitation will be Monday, February 5, 2018 from 2 - 6 pm at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ with services beginning at 5:30 pm at the funeral home.

Elmer Hugo Terhune

Elmer Hugo Terhune, 94, of Port Murray, NJ, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at the House of Good Shepard in Hackettstown, NJ.  Born in Morristown, NJ, on March 28, 1923, Elmer was a resident of Port Murray for over sixty years.  He was the son of William and Marion (Caufield) Terhune and the loving husband to his wife, Helen Terhune, for 70 years prior to her death in 2015.  Elmer leaves behind a daughter, Beverly Novy and her husband George of Danbury, Connecticut, and a son, Ted Terhune and his wife Nancy of Port Murray.  Additionally, Elmer was the proud grandfather of six grandchildren:  Annie, Lauren, Preston, Katie, Kristy, and Laura as well as two great-grandchildren, Lennon Grace and Nora Franklin.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother William, and his sister Marion.

After graduating from Roxbury High School, Elmer attended Rutgers University.  He returned home to the family farm in Chester and then moved to Brookdale Farm in Port Murray.  Together, Elmer and Helen worked tirelessly on their successful dairy farm for 42 years.  Elmer was a member of Rockport Presbyterian Church where he served as a trustee for many years.  An avid Mets fan, Elmer also enjoyed camping, traveling to Florida, and talking about farming and farm equipment.  Elmer will always be remembered as a kind, loyal friend.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 5, at 11:00 am, at Hackettstown Union Cemetery under the direction of Cochran Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Rockport Presbyterian Church, Port Murray, NJ.

Evelyn L. Thompson

 Evelyn Lavinia Thompson, 89, passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2017. She was born in Chester to the late Lavinia and Ralph Robinson on September 10, 1927. Evelyn worked for many years at the Seeing Eye, and was a life member of the Mendham Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. A loving mother and grandmother, she lead an active life spending time with her family, playing cards, knitting, traveling and going to the YMCA. Evelyn was full of life and her sense of humor and strong will are unmatched by all who knew her.

Evelyn is predeceased by her husband, Arthur, and siblings Dorothy Robinson, Charlotte Hoffman, Robert Robinson and Helen Robinson. She is survived by her daughter Terry (Jim) Koeniger and her children Kim (Josh) Gang, Melissa (Gerry) Ciottariello, Stephen (Maria) Thompson and his children Kyle and Hailey Thompson, her son David (Sue) Thompson and his children Kellie, Dana and Ryan, her brother, Francis “Fritz” Robinson, and great-grandchildren Owen, Greyson and Parker Gang, and Katie and Sarah Ciottariello.

Josephine Martina Thomas

 Josephine Martina (Krawczak) Thomas went home to be with the Lord on January 29, 2017 at the House of the Good Shepherd. She passed away peacefully and was 97.

She was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 2, 1919, the daughter of Sophie and Joseph
Krawczak. She grew up in Port Murray, NJ. In 1941 she married George Thomas of
Hackettstown where she resided the remainder of her life. Josephine helped on the family
farm, worked at Newberry's Five and Dime, and retired from M&M Mars after 25+ years-first as
a packer, then as a member of the quality control group.

She was a member of the Mother's Club of Hackettstown, and a charter member and the oldest member of Breakpoint Community Church in Hackettstown and a member of the M&M Retiree Club.

Josephine especially enjoyed her time at their place on Lake Wallenpaupack, PA where she often spent weekends and vacations there. Her hobby was watching and identifying the different kind of birds at her bird feeders. Blue Jays and Cardinals were her favorites.

Josephine loved being with her family and the staff at The House of the Good Shepherd became like family to her as many commented on her kind disposition and her sweet spirit.

She is predeceased by her husband, George, and her sister, Bernice Krawczak. She is survived by her son, Robert and his wife, Peggy; two grandchildren: Bill (Bliss) of Allendale, NJ and
Wendy (Jason) Marriott of Lombard, IL; five great grandchildren: Robby and Sarah Thomas; Jed, Sally,
and Natalie Marriott; a niece, Denise Sacks, and a grand nephew, Dan.

Calling hours will be on Friday, February 3^rd, 2017 from 4 – 7 pm, a funeral service will be held Saturday, February 4^th, 2017 at 11 am at Cochran Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery, Hackettstown.

Dennis George Towers

 Dennis George Towers age 74 of Hackettstown, NJ died Sunday, September 11, 2016 at Morristown Memorial Hospital.  He was the son of the late Ernest and Maryann (Connors) Towers.  In addition to his parents Dennis is preceded in death by a sister in law; Florence Towers.

Dennis was a dedicated member of the United States Army earning the rank of Chief Warrant Officer.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Hackettstown, NJ, was an avid reader , loved to travel, garden and belonged to the 50th Armor Division Discom Allumi Association.

Survived by his loving wife; Barbara (nee-Obal) Towers, his devoted daughter; Denise Lynn Towers, 2 brothers; Thomas Towers, Robert Towers and his wife Arlene, 1 sister; Marrianne Perkins and her husband Richard and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ on Sunday, September 18th from 4-8 pm.

 Kyle Douglas Trew, age 33, of Richmond VA formerly of Hackettstown, Long Valley, Budd Lake, NJ died Saturday, June 18, 2016 at home.  Kyle was born November 6, 1982 in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He is the son of Michelle (Bouley) Trew-Joshnick and the late Gary R. Trew. 

He served proudly in the US Army, the US Navy and the National Guard.  He was employed by Polivka International, Charlotte, NC as a Heavy Equipment Operator.  At a young age Kyle received a Metal of Honor from the Boy Scouts for saving a woman’s life.  He loved soccer, working on cars/motorcycles and riding motorcycles. 

He is survived by ; his mother Michelle (Bouley) Trew-Joshnick and her husband, Brad, a sister; Hillary Rose Trew, a brother, Sean Trew, 2 half-brothers, Jacob and David Joshnick, 1 step sister, Candice Joshnick, 1 niece, Sabina Rose Manea, 2 dogs: Ricki and Butcher

Louis Terrezza

Louis Terrezza, age 62, of Phillipsburg, NJ died Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Overlook Hospital of Summit, NJ.  Born December 17, 1953 in Newark, NJ, was the son of the late Salvatore and Ermalinda (Celli) Terrezza, also predeceased by 1 son, Darrell MacDowell.

Louis proudly served our country in the United States Army Overseas in Korea from 1973 to 1979. He was employed by Veterans Haven North, Glen Gardner, NJ as a Client Service Representative. In addition to his work, Lou was a civic minded individual having served as past president of the Mt. Olive Chamber of Commerce; Life member of the Budd Lake Rescue Squad & First Aid; An expert in organizing club events, Lou was instrumental in creating walk-a-thons for the March of Dimes, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Cancer Care and Multiple Sclerosis Associations. His giving nature made him larger than life as an individual.  The meaning of the word “Family” stood for everything within his existence.   

Louis is survived by his loving wife, Helen Mueller Terrezza; Two daughters: Ermalinda Ogar and her husband Christopher of Swartswood, NJ and Anastacia MacDowell of Phillipsburg, NJ; Three brothers: Joseph Terrezza of North Carolina, Salvatore Terrezzza of Dover, NH and Eugene Terrezza of Flanders, NJ, 6 grandchildren: Kylah, Kyra, Kaleb, Caylie, Kimber and Skylar. He was also survived by several Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, including special cousins who were like a sister, many loved nieces, nephews and extended family members as well as many beloved friends.

David T Tuller, Sr., age 54, of Stewartsville, NJ died Tuesday, June 7, 2016. David was born April 4, 1962 in Summit, NJ. He is the son of Harold and Deena (Dickerson) Tuller.

David was owner/operator of  Tuller Mason Contracting in Stewartsville, NJ, he was extremely passionate about his work.

David loved the outdoors, along with being a avid hunter and fisherman, David also enjoyed playing softball and riding 4 wheelers.

Charles S. Tillou

Charles S. Tillou of Hackettstown, NJ passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, May 22, 2016, he was 90 years old. Born in the Mount Bethel section of Mansfield Township NJ on July 6, 1926, “Charlie” was the son of the late Fred & Elizabeth Morrison Tillou. Mr. Tillou worked as a carpenter all of his adult life and was the owner of Tillou Builders in Hackettstown, NJ. As a young man, he proudly served our country in the United States Navy from 1944 to 1946 and participated in the Normandy Invasion. Charles was an active honorary member of the Hackettstown Fire Department for many years and was also a member of the Hackettstown American Legion, Blue Ridge Post #164. In addition, he served as a Hackettstown Little League football coach for many years and could always be seen on the sidelines of the Hackettstown High School football field during game time working the yardage chains for over 65 years. Mr. Tillou is survived by two sons, C. Scott Tillou and John D. Tillou of Hackettstown, NJ. One daughter, Judy Cruts of Mansfield Twp. One brother, Howard Tillou of Staunton, Virginia and one sister, Ruth Bartow of Hackettstown, NJ. He also survived by eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Charlie was predeceased by his wife, Martha Barth Tillou and a son, Michael Tillou. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00pm at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ, 07840.  Kenneth Trimmer, Sr., age 92, of Mansfield Township, formerly of Succasunna, NJ died Sunday, May 1, 2016 at home.  Kenneth was born March 7, 1924 in Somerville, NJ. He is the son of the late John R. and Viola (Gary) Trimmer.  He was preceded in death by his wife Emma (Holmes) Trimmer on November 12, 2014 and 3 brothers; George, William, and Donald. 

He was previously employed as the Warehouse Manager of Mennen Co., Morris Plains, NJ. Ken was a devoted husband and father, adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Loved his pet dogs; Mickey and Muffin, enjoyed fishing, woodworking and working around his home. 

He is survived by 2 sons; David Trimmer, Kenneth Trimmer, Jr. and wife Josephine; 2 grandsons, Jay Trimmer, Brian Trimmer and wife Theresa; 1 granddaughter; Amanda Stanley and husband Mark 5 great-grandchildren; Ashley, Christina, Timothy, Nathan and Matthew, 3 sisters; Doris, Betty and Virginia.

Helen Terhune, 94, of Port Murray, NJ, peacefully passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2015. Born in Morristown, NJ, on November 29, 1921, Helen was a lifelong resident of Port Murray. She was the daughter of Lloyd and Bess Hopper and the loving wife to her husband of 68 years, Elmer Terhune of Port Murray. In addition to her husband, she leaves behind a daughter, Beverly Novy and her husband George of Ridgefield, Connecticut, and a son, Ted Terhune and his wife Nancy of Port Murray. Additionally, Helen was the proud grandmother of six grandchildren: Annie, Lauren, Preston, Katie, Kristy, and Laura. After graduating from high school, Helen worked at a law firm in Madison, NJ, and then moved to Brookdale Farm in Port Murray with her husband. Together, they worked tirelessly on their successful dairy farm for 42 years. Helen was a faithful member of Rockport Presbyterian Church where she was a member of the Ladies Aid. An avid Mets fan, Helen also enjoyed the Jersey shore, camping, and traveling to Florida. A private family graveside service will be held on Monday, July 20, at Hackettstown Union Cemetery under the direction of Cochran Funeral Home. Gerald V. Thornton, age 73, of Milton, DE, formerly of Hackettstown, NJ and Apopka, FL, died Sunday, March 22, 2015 at home.  Gerald was born October 21, 1941 in Jersey City, NJ. He is the son of the late Vernon and Alberta (Hughes) Thornton.  

He was formerly employed by and retired from Lucent Technologies, Altamonte Springs, FL., as a Site Supervisor. Jerry loved gardening, being outdoors, fishing and hunting. He enjoyed gourmet cooking, spending time at the beach, and vacationing. His greatest joy was spending time with his friends and loving family.

He is survived by his wife: JoAnn (Behr) Thornton, 3 sons: Gregory and wife Erin, Jeffrey and wife Elizabeth, Christopher and wife Nicole.   He had two sisters, Pamela Connelly and husband Michael and Patricia Steiner, 7 grandchildren; Sean, Jacob, Kelly, Abigayle, Molly, Fiona and Julia, and his beloved dog; Fenwick.

Danuta “Donna” Tynan, age 72, a lifelong resident of Hackettstown, NJ died Saturday, February 7, 2015 at House of the Good Shepherd of Hackettstown. Mrs. Tynan was born May 21, 1942 to the late Adolf and Leokadia (Piwowarczyk) Rusc. She was employed by Marshall's, Hackettstown, NJ as a Customer Service Coordinator for many years before retiring. Donna enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and hosting family picnics. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband: Norman Tynan, Jr.,1 daughter; Sandra Tynan, 2 sons; Norman Tynan, III and wife Carla, Darren Tynan; 1 brother; Edward Rusc and wife Teresa; 3 grandchildren; Collin, Caden, Ariella and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was the Owner/Operator of Bob Thomas Auto Sales, Livingston NJ for many years before retiring. Robert was an avid antique collector and enjoyed spending time with his loving grandchildren.

 Emma J. Trimmer, 83 of Mansfield Township died Wednesday November 12th at home. Born in Chester, NJ a daughter of the late Ernest and Rosetta (Hammel) Holmes, Sr. She lived in Mansfield Township for 31 years and had lived in Succasunna previously. Emma worked as a housekeeper at Welkind Rehabilitation Hospital in Chester. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and had a love of animals, a special joy was watching the hummingbirds at the feeder in her yard. She had a green thumb as seen in her flower gardens and she baked a great cheesecake. Perhaps her greatest joy was taking care of her family. She loved taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Even in her illness, she always expressed a concern for others. In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her 8 siblings, brothers, Ernest, Leslie, Charles, Melvin, Vernon, and Luther Holmes and sisters, Anna Mae Lance and Selena Sutton. Emma is survived by her beloved husband, Kenneth Trimmer, Sr., her two sons, Kenneth Trimmer Jr. and his wife Josephine and David E. Trimmer. Also Three grandchildren, Jay and Brian Trimmer and Amanda Stanley and her husband Mark, Two great grandsons, Matthew Stanley and Timothy Trimmer, Two great granddaughters, Ashley and Christina Trimmer and several nieces and nephews.  Arthur "Bub" Tramontin, age 94, a lifelong resident of Clifton, NJ died Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at St. Mary's Hospital, Passaic, NJ.  Arthur was born September 30, 1919 in Passaic. He is the son of the late Ernest and Pierina (Harabalja) Tramontin.  He was married to the late Dorothy Tramontin.  Arthur was also preceded in death by his grandaughter Robin Tramontin.

He served in the  US Army during the WW II from 1944 to1946 as a Sergeant.  Arthur was the President of Tramontin Harley Davidson, Clifton/Hope, NJ who is celebrating their 100^th year anniversary this coming 2015.  Arthur was an avid motorcycle racer and hill climber.  He was a lifetime member of the American Motorcycle Association and was owner of the oldest motorcycle dealership in NJ. 

He is survived by his son; Robert Tramontin and wife Carol, 2 daughters;  Jacqueline Moyer and husband Carl,  Terry Cheney and husband Gerald, 1 sister; Gloria Struck, his companion Julia Loczko, 7 grandchildren; Scott Uzzardi and wife Regina, Shanna Fox and husband Niki, Jonelle Farris and husband John, Renee Uzzardi, Michael Cheney and wife Julia, Gretchen Clegg and husband Stephan and Kristine Bodnar and husband Joseph, 9 great grandchildren; Jack, Giavanna, Gia, Ella, Ryan, Kaleb, Sophia, Bayden and Giuliana.

Alan Scott Tomlinson

Allan Scott Tomlinson, 60, of Hackettstown, N.J., passed away Friday, July 18, at home. He was a retired educator and coach in the Hackettstown school system and a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Scott was born on January 8, 1954 in Wilmington, Del., the son of Allan and Edna (Lang) Tomlinson. He grew up in Belvidere, N.J. where he graduated from Belvidere High School in 1972. He attended William Penn University graduating in 1976 with a B.S. degree in social studies and education with a desire to teach and coach. After graduation, he taught in the Hackettstown school system until his retirement in 2008. During his career, he taught in the Hackettstown elementary, middle, and high schools. An outstanding educator, he will best be remembered as “Coach T” by the student athletes whose lives he touched during his 31 years of coaching boys and girls basketball, girls cross country, track, and football. In 1986, he was named Daily Record Girls Cross Country Coach of the year. In 2000 he was chosen Warren County boys basketball coach of the year. Memberships: Scott was an active member and elder of the Hackettstown First Presbyterian Church where he sang in the choir and served on a number of church committees. He is survived by his wife, Therese (Rowland) Tomlinson, son, William and wife, Melissa, of Quakertown, Pa.; daughter, Bridget, of Morristown, N.J.; sister Bonnie Wilson and husband, LaRoyal of Mt. Pleasant, Pa.; three grandchildren, Ethan, Holden, and Emma Tomlinson. He was predeceased by his parents. Patricia A. Treacy, 73, of Allamuchy Township, NJ died at her residence on October 26, 2013.  Born in the Bronx, NY. on November 6, 1939 to the late Timothy Joseph and Anne (Doyle) Madden.  She was predeceased by her husband, Brian in 1997.

Patricia lived in Allamuchy Township for 15 years coming from Rochester, NY.  She was previously employed as a Secretary for the law firm of Nixon, Hargrave, Devans & Doyle, Rochester, NY.  Patricia was a parishioner of the Good Shepherd R.C. Church, Andover, NJ.  She was a volunteer for Meals On Wheels for many years; was an animal lover and supporter of the Pet Adoption League in Hackettstown, NJ.  She was a true, warm hearted woman.

Patricia is survived by two sisters, Mary Madden and Kathleen Dammacco; one niece, Maureen Marcus and her children, Sean and Caitlin; and one nephew, Brian & his wife Siobhan Dammacco and their children, Lauren, Alanna and Jenna. Also a sister in law, Marie Madden. She was predeceased by a brother, the late Timothy Madden.

Victoria L. Tanczos, 22, of Independence Township, NJ died on October 14, 2013 at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center. Born in Morristown Memorial Hospital on October 3, 1991 to Tibor and Lore (Hebel) Tanczos.

Victoria lived all of her life in Independence Township, NJ and attended Grace-The Church On The Mount in Netcong, NJ.  She loved to swim and was a member of the Sea Dragons of Hackettstown, NJ and the Belvidere Barracudas for many years; was an avid reader and writer. 

She is survived by her parents, Tibor and Lore Tanczos, a sister Kristina, her maternal grandmother, Rosina Hebel, aunts Irma Klee and Heidi Alessio; uncle Otmar Hebel and cousins Shanna, Alyssa, Adam, Chris, Michael and Erik.

Salvatore Terrezza

Salvatore Terrezza, 84, of Budd Lake, NJ died on August 22, 2013 at St. Lukes/Warren Campus, Phillipsburg, NJ. Salvatore was born on December 21, 1928 in Newark, NJ to the late Luigi and Concetta (Grasso) Terrezza.  He was predeceased by his wife, Ermalinda (Celli) Terrezza in 2012.

Salvatore lived in Budd Lake, NJ since 1964 and in the area since 1958. He was employed in the Supply Systems and Stock Room for M & M Mars Candy in Hackettstown and Newark for 45 years where he retired from.  He served in the Army/Air Force during peacetime. He was a parishioner of St. Jude R.C. Church, Budd Lake, NJ. He was a life member and past Captain of the First Aid  & Rescue Squad, Budd Lake, NJ; he served as Captain of the M & M's First Aid Squad; Member of the Musconetcong Lodge # 42, F & A.M.; he was a 32 Degree Mason, Scottish Rite, Valley of Trenton.

He is survived by four sons and their wives, Louis, Joseph, Salvatore and Eugene; four sisters, Yolanda Casale, Lois Chapman and Violet Litvany and Betty Lou Dinsmore; seven grandchlldren, Ermalinda, Melissa, Kristy, Joey, Victoria, Kathryn and Anastacia; six great grandchildren, Kayla, Kyra, Kaleb, Caylie, Kimber and Skylar; He is also survived by his beloved, special nephews and nieces; Salvatore was predeceased by two brothers, Anthony and Carmen, five sisters,  Grace, Jolanda, Henrietta, Stella and Gloria and a grandson Darrell.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 25, 2013, 2:00 - 4:00 PM and 7:00 - 9:00 PM at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High St., Hackettstown, NJ 07840.

Funeral Mass will be on Monday, August 26, 2013, 10:30 AM at St. Jude R.C. Church, 17 Mount Olive Road, Budd Lake, NJ 07828.

Entombment will be in Hollywood Memorial Park, 1500 Stuyvesant Ave., Union, NJ. 07083

Joan Pearl Terhune

Joan Pearl Terhune of White Township died at home on May 31 due to complications from recent brain surgery.  Her loving daughter Wendy and her loving cats Jeter and Benji were at her side.  Joan was 80.  Born in Morristown Memorial Hospital on July 21, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Leslie G. Pearl and Helen (Ackley) Pearl.  Joan married her soul mate William E. Terhune, Jr. on July 18, 1953 at the Tranquiliity United Methodist Church.  Joan held her family and her friends close to her heart with love and compassion. Joan and Bill raised their family in Tranquilitiy, NJ on the family farm BI-JO Holsteins for 32 years then moved to White Twp., NJ in 1985 where they continued to farm and operate a farm stand until 1997 when Bill died and the barn burned.
Joan was predeceased by her husband William E. Terhune, Jr. on June 21, 1997.  She is survived by her loving daughter Wendy Terhune of White Twp. with whom she lived, a daughter Linda Kimble of Tannersville, PA and a son William E. Terhune, III of Bangor, PA. Joan had 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her loving sister Hazel Lynch and brother-in-law Michael Lynch of Tupper Lake, NY, a sister Laura Kasper and brother-in-law Frank Kasper of Hackettstown, NJ and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Elmer and Helen Terhune.  She is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews all of whom she treasured.
Joan was a 1951 graduate of Hackettstown High School and took college courses to become a Teacher's Aide.  She worked for Charles G. Ort Real Estate and Insurance Co., was a Homemaker and then a Teacher's Aide at Green Twp. Elementary School for 15 years.
Joan was a life time member of the Tranquility United Methodist Church, a member of YAGS, a Sunday Schoool and Bible School Teacher.  Joan loved nature, gardening and was an avid NY Yankees fan.
Graveside services were held on Tuesday, June 4 at the Hackettstown Union Cemetery with Pastor Rich Peter of the Tranquility United Methodist Church officiating.  Arrangements were under the direction of Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High St., Hacketstown, NJ 07840.

Robert J. Tickle

Robert J. Tickle, 89 died April 12, 2013 at Emeralds Health Care in Port St. Lucie, FL.

He was born in Staten Island, NY and lived in Port St. Lucie for 30 years coming from Schooley's Mountain, NJ.

He was a member of St. Lucie Catholic Church, Port St. Lucie.  He retired from AT&T after 38 years.  He was a member of the Men's Club, Knights of Columbus; Irish American Club was co-founder, Bingo Committee and Boy Scouts.  He volunteered at Schooley's Mountain Fire Department, where he was past president and lifelong member.  He also was an election poll worker.

Survivors include his daughters, Barbara Van Houten of Cape May, NJ, Linda Schaller of Washington, NJ, Diane Sargent of Saylorsburg, PA and Helen Tickle; sons, Robert Tickle of Jackson, NJ, William Tickle of Lopatcong, NJ and Joseph Tickle of New Orleans; brother Lawrence Tickle of Plant City, FL; 17 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Catherine M. Tickle and a grandson Michael.

Lenora Todd, age 88, formally of Hackettstown, NJ died Monday, January 14, 2013 at Forest Manor Health Care Center of Frelinghuysen Township, NJ. Lenora was born December 7, 1924 in Morristown, NJ. She is the daughter of the late Harry and Luella (Norman) Grainer, Sr.. She was predeceased by her husband, late RobertTodd.

She was a devoted and loving Homemaker. She loved to listen to music and word search puzzles. She also loved to shop.

She is survived by son Robert, Jr. & Georgetta Todd; daughters Muriel & Ellsworth Price; Joan & Michael Nattress; Linda Levens; Sharon & Terry Crump; sisters; Stella Grainer, Rose Umstead and Carol Schurich; grandchildren; Ellsworth, Jr., Lee, Steven, Michael, Darryl, Sherri, Sharon, Bryan, Kevin and Robert III; many great grandchildren and many great great grandchildren; Late Son In Law, Charles Levens; Late Grandson, Charles Levens, Jr.; late brothers, Harry, Jr. & Nathan Grainer; Late Sisters, Martha, Ethel And Lillian.

Janice L. Tomaino-Maddock

Janice L. Tomaino-Maddock, age 66, died Monday, October 1, 2012. Janice was born November 22, 1945 in NJ. She is the daughter of the late Henry and Bertha "Betty" (Filce) Tomaino. She was predeceased by her husband, the late John "Jack" Maddock 2008.

She was employed by Mr. Tee’s Arcade and Miniature Golf in Beach Haven, NJ. Janice spent her summers at the New Jersey shore in Beach Haven, NJ and her winters in Florida. She lived in Tarpon Springs, FL for the past 20 years and previously lived in Hackettstown, NJ for most of her life. She enjoyed boating, her family and enjoyed her work.

She is survived by a son & his companion, Scott (Kathy Klein) Pace; daughter & husband, Karen (Rocco) Rosania; 2 Grandchildren, Emily and Michael Rosania.

A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 pm on Friday, October 12, 2012 at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J. Interment is private.

Patricia Thiede

Patricia Thiede, 85, of Hackettstown, N.J., died Saturday July 7, 2012 at Heath Village, Hackettstown, N.J..  Born May 12, 1927 in Plainfield, N.J. she was the daughter of the late Emil R. & Frieda Gunther Brunner. She  has lived in Hackettstown for the past 5 yrs. moving from North Carolina and prior to that, Westfield, N.J..

Patricia donated countless hours as a volunteer at Craven County Regional Medical Center, New Bern, N.C. and enjoyed various arts & crafts.  She was a very social person in her community, but her true love was being surrounded by her family.

She was predeceased by her husband Robert V. Thiede who died August 1, 2002. She is survived by her loving family;

 Sons - Daniel (Regina) Thiede, Oxford, N.J.,  Eric (Lynda) Thiede, Kingwood, Tx.,  Gary (Eileen) Thiede, Belmar, N.J..  Daughter - Carol (John) Hudak, Bayonne, N.J.   Four loving Grandchildren Stephen Thiede, Gary Thiede, Jr., Laura (Andrew) Hoefel, Brian Thiede and 1 Step Granddaughter, Allison (Mike) Mastrogiacomo. 1 Great Grandchild, Emma Rose Hoefel and 1 Step Great Grandchild, Brody Mastrogiacomo. She is predeceased by a brother, Robert Brunner.

John T. Turick

John Thomas Turick Jr., 66, of Long Valley, died Thursday May 24, 2012. John's benevolent character is remembered by his wife of 43 years, Susan Piascik Turick, their three children and their spouses: Dr. John Turick and wife Jessica of Old Lyme, CT, Mrs. Sabrina Turick Bowersett and husband Daniel of Ashford, CT, and Mr. Troy Turick and wife Nicole of Waltham, MA,  and seven grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.  Son of the late John and Mildred Turick of Ansonia, CT, John was born in Derby, CT December 3, 1945, and raised alongside his brother Thomas Turick of Harwinton, NJ and sister Margaret Root of Derby, CT. He graduated from Notre Dame High School in West Haven, CT in 1963 where he was part of a state championship football team and held the school record for the 880 yard run for track and field. He went on to pursue a degree in civil engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1967, and later a Master's in Business Administration from Farleigh Dickenson University in 1974. John retired from his job at Nabisco Food, in East Hanover, in 2001, where he was Project Manager of the facilities department. John can also be remembered for his work within his own community as he served on the Washington Township Zoning Board of Adjustment for close to 35 years. He loved to hunt and fish, and especially loved watching the sunsets on West Hill Lake, CT where he lived in the summer. John will forever be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, gregarious nature, and his devotion to his family and his faith.

Richard F. Theusen

Richard F. "Satch" Theusen died on Wednesday, 3/21/12 at St. Lukes Hospital, Warren Campus, Phillipsburg,  N.J.  Born in Paterson, N.J. 09/4/34 he was the son of the late Aloys & Helene Ronsdorf Theusen.  Richard grew up in Hackettstown, N.J. and moved to Washington Twp. (Warren Co.) in 1968.
He was employed by Morris County Youth Center and retired as Director after 29 yrs. of service .  After his retirement, he worked part time at Hosking Livery Service, Hackettstown, N.J. as a driver.  "Satch" as many of his friends knew him, graduated from Hackettstown High School in 1953 where he excelled in Football & Baseball.  He  graduated from the University of South Carolina where he started on both the Football and Baseball teams.
He was a member of the Washington United Methodist Church, Washington, N.J. and was an exempt member of the Washington Twp. Volunteer Fire Dept. for many years.  When his children were growing up, Richard volunteered as a coach for many years in the Washington Twp. Youth Sports program.   Through the years, Richard loved going to the Horse Track or OTB and going out for breakfast with his group of friends known as the "Breakfast Club".
He is survived by 2 sons - Gary (Lena) Theusen - Holland Twp., N.J. & Mark Williams - Bangor, Pa., 2 Daughters - Donna (Anthony) Peruta - Calabash, North Carolina & Jody (Chip) Kries - Washington Twp. (Warren Co.) N.J.
1 Sister - Rita (Sam) Bocchino - Port Murray, N.J.
6 Grandchildren - Derek & his wife Joannie, Brittany, Laura, Adam, Karylyn & Kasey                                      
3 Great Grandchildren - Logan, Blake & Eloise.
 He was predeceased by his first wife, Georgia Chandler in 1968 and his second wife, Arlene Roscher in 2008 as well as a  grandson, Mark Richard Williams in 2007.  Being together with his family meant everything to him and that included his best friend "Cleo" the cat!
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, 3-24-12 from 1 to 4pm  with memorial services beginning at 4pm at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High St., Hackettstown, N.J. 07840. Interment will follow in the  Union Cemetery, Hackettstown, N.J.

Ermalinda Terrezza, age 79, of Budd Lake, NJ died Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center, Hackettstown, N.J.. Ermalinda was born December 13, 1932 in Newark, NJ. She is the wife of Salvatore Terrezza and the daughter of the late Joseph and Ermalinda (Aquavella) Celli.

She was a loving and devoted Homemaker.
Ermalinda was a parishioner of St. Jude R.C. Church, Budd Lake, NJ and also taught C.C.D. classes at the church. She was a member of the Budd Lake First Aid Auxillary; and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Washington Chapter # 136. Ermalinda lived for her family and enjoyed and loved her grand and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband: SalvatoreTerrezza; 4 Sons-Louis and Helen Terrezza, Phillipsburg, NJ; Salvatore and Kim Terrezza, Dover, NH; Joseph Terrrezza, PA; Eugene Terrezza, Budd Lake, NJ. 1 Sister-Rose Marie Barnak, Keansburg, NJ. 7 Grandchildren, Ermalinda, Melissa, Kristy, Joey, Victoria, Kathryn, and Anastacia, 5 Great Grandchildren ,Kaylah, Kyra, Kaleb, Caylie and Kimber and one special niece Alisa Marino
